Editorial Review
Our Take on Perfection Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Ltd.
The pairing of drain equipment with water treatment is the interesting part of this profile, because in a hard-water city with aging clay laterals those two problems tend to arrive in the same house. A 4.9 rating across 783 Google reviews, read in September 2026, is the kind of volume that is hard to manufacture. We would still nail down the after-hours rate on the phone before agreeing to a midnight call.
Best for: round-the-clock drain and sewer work in older Saskatoon homes
What We Like
- 4.9 rating from 783 reviews on its Google Business Profile, read September 27, 2026
- Published hours of 24 hours a day, seven days a week
- Trading in Saskatoon since 1996 according to its own website
- Drain work backed by camera inspection and flex shaft equipment, not just clearing
- Water treatment handled in-house, which suits Saskatoon's hard water
Things to Consider
- Presentation is heavily residential, so larger commercial or new-build work may be a poorer fit
- After-hours and holiday call-out rates are not published, so confirm them by phone
- Pricing claims such as upfront quoting and licensing come from the company's own website rather than an independent source

About Perfection Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Ltd.
Drain work and general plumbing repair sit side by side here, and that combination matters more in Saskatoon than people expect. A kitchen sink that keeps slowing down is rarely just a kitchen sink. Perfection Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Ltd. lists flex shaft cleaning, floor drain and main sewer clearing, sewer flushing and camera inspection alongside the ordinary repair calls, which means the same company that punches through the clog can put a camera down the line afterwards and tell you whether roots, a belly in the pipe or an old clay joint is the real culprit. That saves a second diagnostic visit from a different trade.
The service list is broad for a residential plumber. Faucet repair and installation, toilets, outdoor faucets and hose bibs, leak detection, main water shut-off valves, pipe repair and replacement, sump pumps, and backwater valve installation all appear. On the mechanical side there are tank and tankless water heaters, with repair, installation and removal of the old unit. Water treatment is treated as its own department: softeners, reverse osmosis units, and whole-house chlorine and taste filtration.
That water treatment emphasis is not padding in this city. Saskatoon draws from the South Saskatchewan River and the water arrives hard enough that scale builds inside tanks, showerheads and dishwashers over a few years. A hot water tank that fails at eight years instead of twelve is often a scale story. If you are replacing a heater anyway, it is worth asking whether a softener sized to your household changes the maths on the next one, and whether the company will service the softener it sells rather than leaving you to find someone else for resin and salt questions.
Frost is the other local factor. Winter here regularly pushes deep and long, and that shows up as frozen and split lines in crawl spaces and exterior walls, seized hose bibs discovered on the first warm April weekend, and sump pumps that get asked to do a season's work in about ten days during spring melt. Older neighbourhoods such as Nutana, Caswell Hill, City Park and Riversdale carry cast iron drains and clay sewer laterals that are well past their design life, and the spring runoff that finds a cracked lateral is the same runoff that ends up on a basement floor. Backwater valve installation, which the company lists, is the standard answer to sewer backup risk in those areas, and it is worth asking whether your municipal service line and permit situation affects the install.
Hours are published as 24 hours a day, seven days a week, so after-hours calls are part of the offer rather than an exception. Ask the practical questions anyway. Find out whether an evening or holiday call-out carries a different rate, what the diagnostic or trip charge is and whether it applies to the repair if you go ahead, and how a price is presented before work starts. The company says it quotes for approval before beginning and stocks common parts on its vans so most repairs finish in one visit, which is a reasonable claim for a service plumber but one you should confirm for your specific job.
On reputation, the Google Business Profile showed 4.9 from 783 reviews as read on September 27, 2026. A review count in the high hundreds is unusual for a plumbing company working one city, and it points to steady volume over a long period rather than a recent push. The company says it has been trading since 1996 and holds licensing, insurance and bonding; ask for current documentation if a larger job is involved, as you should with any contractor. It is also listed with the Better Business Bureau for Central Canada, which gives a second place to check complaint history.
Who it fits: homeowners in Saskatoon and the immediate area who want one company for a blocked drain, a dead water heater or a water quality problem, and who value being able to phone at two in the morning. Who it fits less well: anyone shopping purely on lowest hourly rate, or a developer needing rough-in plumbing across multiple new builds, since the presentation is squarely residential service and repair. Compared with the one-van operators around the city, perfection plumbing drain cleaning ltd brings camera and flex shaft equipment plus round-the-clock dispatch; compared with the national franchises, it is a locally rooted business with a long single-market track record. Either way, get the scope and the price in writing before the tools come out, and if a sewer line is suspect, insist on seeing the camera footage yourself rather than accepting a verbal summary.

Perfection Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Ltd. FAQs
Is Perfection Plumbing really open 24 hours?
Its published hours show 24 hours a day, every day of the week, and the company markets emergency service as a core part of what it does. That said, published hours tell you when someone should answer the phone, not what an overnight visit costs. Ask about the after-hours call-out rate and any trip or diagnostic charge before you agree to a technician being dispatched.
How long has the company been in business?
Since 1996, according to its own website, which also references more than 30 years of experience in the trade. That gives it close to three decades of work in one city, and the volume of reviews on its Google profile is consistent with a long-running service business rather than a recent start-up.
What is its Google rating?
4.9 from 783 reviews on its Google Business Profile, read on September 27, 2026. Ratings and counts move over time, so check the current figure before you call. A count in the hundreds is worth more than a perfect score built on a handful of reviews.
Do they do water softeners as well as plumbing?
Yes, water treatment is listed as its own service area, covering softeners, reverse osmosis systems and whole-house chlorine and taste filtration. Saskatoon water is hard, and scale shortens the life of water heaters, dishwashers and fixtures, so it is a reasonable conversation to have when you are already replacing a hot water tank.
Can they find out why my drain keeps backing up?
The company lists sewer camera inspection and line locating alongside its drain cleaning, so the cause can be investigated rather than just cleared. In older Saskatoon neighbourhoods, repeat backups usually trace to tree roots at a clay joint, a sag in the lateral or a partially collapsed section. Ask to watch the camera footage and to be shown the depth and location of whatever they find.
Should I install a backwater valve?
It is worth asking about if your basement has ever taken sewage during heavy rain or spring melt, and perfection plumbing drain cleaning ltd lists backwater valve installation among its services. A valve closes when flow reverses from the municipal main. Confirm what the install involves in your particular basement, whether a permit or inspection applies, and how the valve is maintained afterward.
Where is the shop located?
Unit 9 at 1100 7 Avenue North in Saskatoon, north of the downtown core. The phone number listed is 306-652-9556. The business presents itself as serving Saskatoon; if you are outside city limits, ask whether your address falls inside the regular service area and whether travel is billed.
Is Perfection Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Ltd. licensed and insured?
We have no credential records on file for this company yet. Ask for the certificate directly from the insurer before booking work.
What areas does Perfection Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Ltd. serve?
Saskatoon. Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. Confirm your address before scheduling, particularly at the edge of a service area.
Does Perfection Plumbing & Drain Cleaning Ltd. offer emergency service?
Emergency availability is not listed for this company. If you need an urgent call-out, check the ranking for companies that do list it.
What warranty do they offer?
Warranty terms are not on file. Ask for them in writing before work starts.
How was this profile built?
Credentials come from issuing authorities, ratings from the company's Google Business Profile with the date we read them, and the editorial take from our own review of estimates, warranty documents and public feedback. Anything the business told us is labelled as reported.
Can a business pay to improve its profile?
A business can subscribe to manage its own listing details, and it can buy a labelled sponsored placement. Neither changes a ranking position or the editorial assessment on this page.
