Registered on Google as a garage door supplier, this operation runs from Buttermill Avenue in Concord and covers Toronto and the wider GTA. The work splits two ways. On the residential side it sells and installs steel, carriage, glass, wood and farmhouse-style doors, and handles the usual repair list: springs and cables, openers, bent panels, worn weather stripping, hinges, rollers, safety sensors and chains. On the commercial and industrial side the range widens to rolling fire doors, loading dock systems, high-speed doors, automatic sliding entrances and retail storefront doors, which is a deeper bench than most residential-only shops carry. The Google Business Profile showed 4.9 from 46 reviews when read on September 3, 2026, a strong score on a modest sample. The company says it has been operating for more than 15 years and cites International Door Association dealer rankings. Suits property managers, warehouse operators and homeowners who want one contractor for both a house door and a commercial opening.

Editorial Review

Our Take on Canadoor Garage Doors Toronto

The industrial and commercial catalogue is what separates this one from the crowd of spring-and-opener repair outfits working the GTA, and property managers should have it on their list. Homeowners get the benefit of that depth, but should note the weekday-only hours on the Google profile against the 24/7 language on the website and pin down which applies to them. A 4.9 average is strong, though 46 reviews is a modest sample to judge on.

Best for: commercial and industrial door systems in the GTA, plus planned residential installs

What We Like

  • Google rating of 4.9 from 46 reviews, read on September 3, 2026
  • Unusually broad commercial range: rolling fire doors, dock systems, high-speed and automatic sliding doors
  • Full residential repair list including springs, cables, openers, panels, sensors and weather stripping
  • Sells and installs multiple door styles, from modern steel to carriage, glass and wood
  • Concord base with good highway access to North York, Vaughan and central Toronto

Things to Consider

  • Published Google hours are weekdays only, while the website advertises 24/7 industrial service; confirm which applies
  • 46 reviews is a smaller sample than some high-volume GTA repair firms carry
  • Several different phone numbers appear across the website, so calls may route by region
  • Claims about years in business and dealer rankings come from the company and are not independently verified here

  • David Skelly5.0We had 2 of our garage doors fail for some unknown reason. Based on what chatgpt said, it was either the motor or a capacitor that had failed. Called a few garage tech companies to see if they could diagnose and repair. 2 came and without even really looking, said that the garage door unit needed to be changed out (broken motor and broken sprocket). Told me they could do the work the same day for $1200 per unit. When I said I would think about it, the price magically came down. Both said that diagnose and quotes would be free, but one insisted on getting paid $20 and then ghosted us when we called to see why we were charged. Canadoor, out of the ones we called were the only professional sounding group. Made an appointment for 12 - 5 for a free diagnosis and inspection. The tech Cam called virtually around 12 on the day of the work to give an estimated time of arrival. When he arrived, he was very courteous and asked some questions to help diagnose the issue. He was the only tech who actually opened up the units to see what the issue was (it was a board issue). Was able to repair and get both garage doors working. Although he couldn't garentee for how long. Regardless, I appreciate the fact that he took the time to actually repair the units. Did not rush, took his time. I would fully recommend this company if you have issues with your garage door opener.September 2026Google

  • Prakash Priyadarshi5.0I had a broken garage door cable and needed it fixed quickly. From start to finish, my interaction with Tracy who helped me book the expert consultation visit and then for Dawson to be the expert supervisor visiting to provide the consultation and fix the issue, it was all a mindblowing experience. Dawson was professional, friendly, and efficient from start to finish. He diagnosed the issue right away, explained everything clearly, and got the cable replaced without any hassle. The door works perfectly now. The complimentary maple syrup from Canada Garage Doors are also a great way to appreciate customer relationship. Great work and fair pricing – I’ll definitely call him again if anything else comes up.September 2026Google

About Canadoor Garage Doors Toronto

Concord sits just off Highway 7 and the 400, which is useful context for a door company serving Toronto. From Buttermill Avenue a truck can reach North York, Vaughan, Richmond Hill and midtown without much trouble, and downtown or the east end on a reasonable run. The company's own site also names Bolton as a hub covering Brampton, Mississauga and the wider region, so coverage appears to be organised around more than one base rather than a single shop.

What you are hiring for matters here. Canadoor Garage Doors Toronto presents itself as a supplier and installer across both housing and industry, and the industrial catalogue is the part that stands out. Rolling fire doors, dock levellers and seals, high-speed doors for cold storage or busy bays, automatic sliders for retail entrances. Those are specialised items with their own inspection and code expectations, and firms that stock and service them tend to keep parts and trained techs on hand for the residential side too. If you manage a plaza, a warehouse or a fleet yard, that breadth is the reason to call. If you simply want a new double door on a Leaside bungalow, you are buying from a company whose day job also includes much larger openings, which is neither good nor bad on its own.

The residential list runs through the failures that actually happen. Torsion springs are the big one. They are rated in cycles, they fatigue, and in Toronto they fail disproportionately in January when steel is cold and brittle and the door is heavy with ice at the bottom seal. A snapped spring usually means the door will not lift, and trying to force it with the opener is how you burn out a motor or bend a panel. Cables fray and jump the drum. Rollers seize. Safety sensors drift out of alignment and the door reverses halfway down for no visible reason, which is almost always a five-minute fix rather than a replacement. Bottom weather stripping tears on salt and grit, then the garage floor freezes and the seal sticks.

On installation, the questions worth asking are the same anywhere in the city. What R-value is the insulation, and is it polystyrene or polyurethane bonded to both skins. Is the opener belt or chain drive, and if you have living space above the garage the belt is worth the difference. Does the quote include hauling away the old door, new tracks and hardware rather than reusing the existing rails, and a new spring sized to the finished door weight. Ask about the manufacturer warranty on the sections and the finish, and separately about the labour warranty from the installer, because they are rarely the same length. For older Toronto garages, particularly detached ones in the west end and along the laneways, ask whether the headroom and side room will take a standard track or whether low-headroom hardware is needed. Laneway garages also throw up width constraints that turn a stock door into a custom order with a longer lead time.

The published Google hours are Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 5 PM, with weekends closed. The company's own site advertises longer weekday hours and 24/7 industrial door repair, so if you need an after-hours or weekend response, confirm on the phone what is actually covered and what the emergency call-out costs. Emergency door work is normally priced at a premium rate with a minimum charge, and it is better to know that before the truck arrives. The listed number is 416-742-2727, though the website shows several other lines, which suggests calls route by region.

On reputation, the Google Business Profile stood at 4.9 from 46 reviews when checked on September 3, 2026. That is a good average, but 46 reviews is a smaller pool than some of the high-volume repair outfits advertising in the GTA carry, so read a handful rather than trusting the number alone. The claims about more than 15 years of operation and International Door Association dealer rankings come from the company itself and are worth asking about directly if they matter to your decision.

Compared with the alternatives, Canadoor Garage Doors Toronto sits between the one-truck repair specialists who can often be at your house the same afternoon and the large franchised showroom brands. Weekday-hours businesses generally do better on planned installations and commercial contracts than on a Saturday night lockout. Get the quote in writing, itemised, before anything is ordered.

Canadoor Garage Doors Toronto FAQs

  • What areas around Toronto does Canadoor cover?

Toronto and the wider GTA, worked from more than one base. The Google listing gives an address on Buttermill Avenue in Concord, and the company's website names Bolton as a hub serving Brampton, Vaughan, Mississauga, Richmond Hill, North York and the city of Toronto. Confirm your postal code when you call.

  • Are they open on weekends?

The Google profile lists Saturday and Sunday as closed, with weekday hours of 8 AM to 5 PM. The company's own site advertises longer weekday hours and 24/7 industrial door repair service, so weekend availability likely depends on the type of job. Ask directly, and ask what an after-hours call-out costs before booking.

  • Do they handle commercial and industrial doors, not just home garages?

Yes, and that is a large part of the business. The published service list includes rolling fire doors, industrial doors, loading dock systems, high-speed doors, retail store doors and automatic sliding entrances, alongside the residential range.

  • How good are the reviews?

The Google Business Profile showed 4.9 out of 5 from 46 reviews when read on September 3, 2026. That is a strong average, though the review count is modest, so it is worth reading several of the individual comments to see what kinds of jobs they describe.

  • My garage door spring broke. Can I still open the door?

Not safely, and you should not try. A torsion spring carries the door's weight, so once it snaps the door is extremely heavy and the opener is not built to lift it. Forcing it can burn out the motor or bend panels. Springs are also under high tension and are not a DIY replacement. Call for a technician and leave the door where it is.

  • What should I ask before agreeing to a new door installation?

Ask about insulation type and R-value, whether the opener is belt or chain drive, and what the quote includes. A proper installation quote should cover removal and disposal of the old door, new tracks and hardware rather than reused rails, and a spring correctly sized to the new door's weight. Also separate the manufacturer warranty on the sections from the installer's labour warranty, since they usually run for different lengths of time.

  • How often should a garage door be serviced?

A light service once or twice a year suits most Toronto homes. Rollers, hinges and tracks benefit from a silicone-based lubricant every three to six months, and the bottom seal is worth checking each autumn before salt and freezing conditions arrive. Annual professional checks catch fraying cables and fatigued springs before they fail.

  • Is Canadoor Garage Doors Toronto licensed and insured?

We checked 0 of 4 credentials against the issuing authority. Verified items carry the date we checked; reported items are what the business told us and we could not independently confirm.

  • What areas does Canadoor Garage Doors Toronto serve?

Toronto, Mississauga, Concord, North York, Bolton, Brampton, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Barrie, Sudbury, Orillia. Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. Confirm your address before scheduling, particularly at the edge of a service area.

  • Does Canadoor Garage Doors Toronto offer emergency service?

Yes, the company lists emergency availability. Response time depends on demand, and after a storm every company in the market is stretched.

  • What warranty do they offer?

Warranty terms are not on file. Ask for them in writing before work starts.

  • How was this profile built?

Credentials come from issuing authorities, ratings from the company's Google Business Profile with the date we read them, and the editorial take from our own review of estimates, warranty documents and public feedback. Anything the business told us is labelled as reported.

  • Can a business pay to improve its profile?

A business can subscribe to manage its own listing details, and it can buy a labelled sponsored placement. Neither changes a ranking position or the editorial assessment on this page.
