K Kuypers Construction Ltd is a family-run Edmonton foundation company that dates to 1954, when Kevin Kuypers's grandfather dug out a neighbour's leaking basement by hand. Kevin bought the business in 2004 and says he has spent 41 years in this trade. The company digs by hand, takes one job at a time and installs weeping tile, sump pits and pumps, exterior wall sealing, GeoDrain insulation board and window wells. It also repairs foundation cracks and inspects foundations. Reviewers say Kevin does the estimate and works in the trench with his crew. Every repair carries a 25-year guarantee that the company calls fully transferable. The office is at 11420 142 Street NW, and the site lists service to Edmonton, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Leduc, Beaumont and Fort Saskatchewan.

Editorial Review

Our Take on K Kuypers Construction Ltd

Kevin Kuypers's hands-on, hand-dug approach is the standout, and reviewers keep naming him on site. Expect a wait in busy season, and note that the listed services centre on exterior work. The 25-year transferable guarantee is a strong point to confirm in writing.

I contacted the company regarding a potential moisture issue in our basement and was contacted back by a gentleman named Kevin. Unfortunately, the interaction was extremely disappointing. From the beginning of the conversation, his tone came across as condescending and dismissive. He stated that he was not looking for additional work, particularly work outside of Edmonton, but the way this was communicated was unnecessarily rude and disrespectful. I completely understand that a company may not be interested in taking on a particular job or service area. However, there is a professional and courteous way to communicate that to a potential customer. I was simply looking for information and guidance regarding a legitimate basement moisture concern, and I did not expect to be spoken to in the manner that I was. Regardless of whether they wanted the work, basic professionalism and respect should always be extended to someone who takes the time to contact your business. Based on this interaction, I would not feel comfortable recommending this company to others.

Thank you to Kevin and his crew for installing my weeping tile and sump pump in just 3 days I was impressed that your team dug everything by hand. It doesn't even look like you were here and no damage to the lawn. I will highly recommend them. Great job. Thanks Kevin.

Kuypers Construction did an excellent job repairing and waterproofing a cracked foundation wall and installing weeping tile, window wells, and a sump pump. The crew worked under a deck and around a hot tub without requiring the deck be taken apart or the hot tub moved. The work was done quickly, efficiently, and professionally. Kevin was on site for the duration of the job and led the work from start to finish. The price was very competitive and I was charged as quoted (no surprise or hidden fees). I would absolutely hire Kuypers Construction again, and am happy to support a local, family-owned business with so much experience and history in the Edmonton area. 100% recommend!

I had an exceptional experience with Kevin and his team after my home experienced flooding following the heavy rains this summer. They completely redid all four walls of our home, including the waterproofing and water barrier, and hand-dug around the entire house. From start to finish, Kevin and his team were absolutely fantastic. They were extremely efficient, worked incredibly quickly, and were so tidy and respectful of my property throughout the entire process. Everyone was polite, professional, and clearly took pride in their work. Kevin himself was wonderful to deal with. He was knowledgeable, reliable, and genuinely cared about making sure everything was done properly. What could have been a very stressful situation was made so much easier because we knew we were in good hands. I would highly recommend Kevin and his team to anyone needing this type of work. I couldn’t be happier with the job they did!

When you realize that you need your home foundation addressed, it’s a harrowing thought. It’s expensive, it’s invasive and picking the wrong contractor would be disastrous. Making the decision to use Kuypers saved our sanity. Kevin was honest and direct, with no flowery sales pitch (which is a turn off) and his quote was reasonable. It was worth the wait for Kuypers to do our home. His crew were on time and incredibly hard working. The job was completed within the estimated timeframe but even MORE impressive is that our landscaping was removed and put back exactly as Kevin and his crew found it. I was in awe. I still am in awe, every time go outside and remember the work that was done. All of that excavating and our property looked as though it had never been touched. I am so grateful that we found Kuypers. Word of mouth is a powerful way to build and maintain a company’s reputation. Kuypers has plenty of the latter and probably does not need this review. The company has been around for three generations, but I had to post my experience if only, to let the uninitiated homeowner who may be worried and stressed about hiring a contractor to do a job as important as foundation work. Please do not hesitate to hire Kuypers construction.

Company Background

About K Kuypers Construction Ltd

K Kuypers Construction Ltd is a three-generation Edmonton family company that began in 1954, when Kevin Kuypers's grandfather dug out a neighbour's leaking basement by hand and saw a business in it. His father took over after the founder died in a car accident, Kevin joined in 1985, and he bought the company in 2004. The website says he has spent 41 years in this one trade, and reviewers describe him doing the estimate, leading the job and working in the trench beside his crew.

The work is exterior and hand dug. A full repair means excavating the perimeter, installing weeping tile, a sump pit and pump, sealing the outside walls, adding GeoDrain insulation board and fitting window wells with drains. The company also repairs vertical foundation cracks, inspects foundations and installs foundation insulation. It says it runs one job at a time to protect landscaping, and reviews back that up. One homeowner had work done under a deck and around a hot tub without moving either. Another had a crack patched by two workers in four to five hours after larger firms quoted tearing out a porch. The company's Oliver neighbourhood project was finished in three days.

Every repair carries a 25-year guarantee that the company describes as fully transferable. K Kuypers Construction Ltd works from 11420 142 Street NW and lists Edmonton, Sherwood Park, St. Albert, Spruce Grove, Stony Plain, Leduc, Beaumont and Fort Saskatchewan as its service area. Its site shows a Better Business Bureau profile, an ACSA membership and a 2026 Consumer Choice Award. Free estimates are offered.

It earns 4.8 from 60 Google reviews, read October 21, 2026. One reviewer noted that Kevin could not give a start date in the spring busy season, so expect to wait for a slot.

This company suits homeowners with a failing weeping tile system, a cracked foundation wall or a leaking basement who want an owner involved. It suits less well anyone who needs interior drainage, crawl space work or a large crew on a fast schedule, since none of those appear on the site. Before booking, ask for a written scope, a start date and the guarantee transfer terms. Alberta has no waterproofing-specific licence, so confirm WCB Alberta clearance, a City of Edmonton business licence and any Safety Codes permits the job needs.
