Editorial Review
Our Take on Plomberie Drainville
A 4.9 average across 57 Google reviews is a strong signal, and the published RBQ number and CMMTQ membership are the kind of detail that lets a reader verify something instead of taking it on faith. The multiplex experience is the differentiator worth paying for in central Montreal. Just get the after-hours rate and the scope of the free estimate confirmed on the phone, since neither is published.

iAbout service coverage
Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. A company will often travel beyond the areas listed here for a large job and decline a small one at the same distance, so confirm your address before scheduling.
About Plomberie Drainville
Plomberie Drainville presents itself as a full-service plumbing contractor rather than a drain-only outfit, and the four service lines it publishes back that up: emergency call-outs, unblocking and drain diagnosis, water heater replacement, and renovation work including bathroom and kitchen rebuilds and pipe replacement in multiplex buildings. That spread matters in Montreal, where the same building that needs a stack cleared this winter may need its galvanised supply lines replaced within a few years.
The base is Saint-Léonard, with service listed across the Greater Montreal area and specific mention of Côte-des-Neiges, Mount Royal, Outremont, Ahuntsic, Ville Saint-Laurent, Old Montreal, downtown, Côte-Saint-Luc and Hampstead. Coverage is confirmed on a per-address basis, which is the honest way to describe it. A plumber in Saint-Léonard can reach Ahuntsic or Rosemont quickly on a weekday morning and will take longer to get to Hampstead or the West Island, so calling with the address and the nature of the problem is the fastest way to find out what is realistic today.
Credentials are stated openly. RBQ licence 5836-1882-01 is published on the site, along with CMMTQ membership and CCQ competency cards for the workforce. In Quebec these are the things worth checking, and they are verifiable: the Régie du bâtiment du Québec maintains a public licence register, and the CMMTQ lists its member contractors. Any Montreal homeowner asking for quotes should look up the licence number before work starts, both for the obvious reason and because permit applications and insurance claims can hinge on it. Plomberie Drainville makes that easy by putting the number in plain sight.
The day-to-day method described is diagnosis first, then options with prices, then execution once approved, with surfaces protected and the area cleaned before the crew leaves. The site also mentions photos of finished work and a water test of connections before departure. Those are claims from the company, not independently checked, but they line up with what reviewers say. The Google Business Profile showed 4.9 from 57 reviews when read on September 25, 2026, and the quoted comments run to arriving on time, doing clean work and being fair and competent. One reviewer describes hiring them twice in different years, which is the sort of detail that tends to mean more than a single five-star line.
The multiplex focus is the most useful thing here for a lot of readers. Montreal duplexes and triplexes share drain stacks between units, put the main cleanout in a cramped basement or a crawl space behind a furnace, and often still carry cast iron below the slab. A recurring backup in that setting is rarely solved by a cable alone, and a plumber who goes looking for the cause, a bellied line, root intrusion, a collapsed section, is worth more than one who clears it and leaves. Landlords dealing with a tenant complaint and owners deciding whether to replace a section of drain during a bathroom renovation are the clearest fit for this company.
Who it suits less well: anyone needing large commercial mechanical work, or a strictly English-language experience, since the site leads in French with an English toggle. The published material also does not list prices, call-out fees or after-hours rates, so ask for those on the phone. For an emergency, the company says to call 514 549-1828 rather than use the form, which is sensible advice for a burst line at two in the morning anyway.
Before hiring, a few questions are worth asking. What is the rate after hours and on weekends, and does a call-out fee apply on top of labour. Is the free estimate firm or a range, and does it hold if a wall has to open. Who pulls the permit for drain or pipe replacement work, and will the invoice show the licence number. For a water heater, ask about the valve and expansion arrangements, the disposal of the old tank, and what warranty the manufacturer provides on the unit as distinct from the labour.
Compared to the alternatives in this market, the choice tends to be between large franchised drain companies with dispatchers and fleets, and smaller licensed contractors where you speak to someone close to the work. Plomberie Drainville sits in the second group, with a review count that is modest but a rating that is high and a scope of work that reaches past drain clearing into renovation. For a household that wants one number for both the emergency and the eventual rebuild, that combination is the appeal.

Plomberie Drainville FAQs
Is Plomberie Drainville licensed in Quebec?
Yes, the company publishes RBQ licence 5836-1882-01 and states it is a member of the CMMTQ, with CCQ competency cards held by its employees. You can check the licence yourself on the Régie du bâtiment du Québec register, which is worth doing before any work that needs a permit or that might later involve an insurance claim.
Do they come out at night or on weekends?
The company says its emergency service runs 24 hours, seven days a week. For a leak, a backup or a sudden break it advises calling 514 549-1828 directly rather than using the website form, which is faster. Published material does not list after-hours rates, so ask what the call-out costs before the truck is dispatched.
Which parts of Montreal does plomberie drainville cover?
The company works out of Saint-Léonard and serves the Greater Montreal area, with Côte-des-Neiges, Mount Royal, Outremont, Ahuntsic, Ville Saint-Laurent, Old Montreal, downtown, Côte-Saint-Luc and Hampstead listed by name. Coverage outside those areas is confirmed on request, so call with your address and a short description of the problem.
Is the estimate really free?
The company states estimates are free for all its services, with the amount given before work begins and no obligation. Worth clarifying on the call whether the figure is firm or a range, and what happens if a wall or floor has to be opened to reach the problem, since drain and pipe work in older buildings often reveals more than the first look suggests.
Do they work on duplexes and triplexes?
Yes, the company describes multiplex work as a large part of what it does and mentions shared stacks, restricted access and old drains as familiar conditions. That is the typical Montreal situation, where one blocked line affects two or three units and the cleanout sits somewhere awkward in the basement.
How good are the reviews?
The Google Business Profile showed a 4.9 rating from 57 reviews when read on September 25, 2026. Quoted comments mention arriving on time, quality work, a clean site and fair pricing, and one reviewer describes using the company twice in separate years. The volume is smaller than that of the big franchised operators, but the average is high.
Can they replace a water heater the same day?
The company lists water heater replacement as one of its four core services, including new connections, valves and upgrades to aging installations, and says the old unit is removed and the work checked before the crew leaves. Same-day availability is not published, so call with the tank size and location to find out what is possible.
Is Plomberie Drainville licensed and insured?
We checked 0 of 3 credentials against the issuing authority. Verified items carry the date we checked; reported items are what the business told us and we could not independently confirm.
What areas does Plomberie Drainville serve?
Montreal, Outremont. Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. Confirm your address before scheduling, particularly at the edge of a service area.
Does Plomberie Drainville offer emergency service?
Yes, the company lists emergency availability. Response time depends on demand, and after a storm every company in the market is stretched.
What warranty do they offer?
Warranty terms are not on file. Ask for them in writing before work starts.
How was this profile built?
Credentials come from issuing authorities, ratings from the company's Google Business Profile with the date we read them, and the editorial take from our own review of estimates, warranty documents and public feedback. Anything the business told us is labelled as reported.
Can a business pay to improve its profile?
A business can subscribe to manage its own listing details, and it can buy a labelled sponsored placement. Neither changes a ranking position or the editorial assessment on this page.
