Editorial Review

Our Take on PS Plumbing Services

PS Plumbing Services is a smaller, Detroit-based operation, and that shows in the reviews: customers describe a company that's easier to reach directly and more flexible about scheduling than the bigger regional names. A decade in business and a review base that's grown steadily rather than in sudden bursts both support that it's a legitimate, established local shop rather than a newer operation still building a track record.

About PS Plumbing Services

PS Plumbing Services LLC operates out of a Burlingame Street address on Detroit's north end, not far from Highland Park, and has been taking calls in the city since 2014. Unlike the larger regional names that dominate a lot of Detroit plumbing searches, PS Plumbing is a genuinely small, independently owned shop, and that shows up in the reviews behind its 4.5 rating from 93 reviews, read September 18, 2026.

The company's day-to-day work is standard residential plumbing: pipe inspections, drain cleaning, faucet and fixture repair, water heater troubleshooting, and the kind of small jobs, a running toilet, a slow bathroom sink, a leaking shutoff valve, that a lot of bigger Detroit plumbing companies don't love taking on. PS Plumbing Services also runs a 24/7 emergency line, so it isn't limited to routine maintenance calls during business hours.

What separates a smaller Detroit outfit like PS Plumbing from the high-volume regional operations is direct access. Reviewers describe reaching the same people on repeat calls rather than going through a dispatch center each time, and a level of scheduling flexibility that's easier for a company running a handful of trucks than one running dozens. That matters most for non-emergency work, where a homeowner would rather pick a specific afternoon than take whatever slot a call center offers three weeks out.

Detroit's north end, where PS Plumbing is based, includes a mix of older bungalows and postwar housing, much of it with plumbing systems that have been patched and repaired multiple times over the decades rather than fully replaced. A plumber working that housing stock day in and day out develops a feel for where the recurring problems tend to be, aging galvanized pipe, undersized drain lines in additions, water heaters installed without proper venting, that a company parachuting in from the suburbs doesn't necessarily have.

A handful of reviews mention slower response outside of normal business hours compared with the daytime service, which is a fairly common tradeoff for a small, independently run shop without a large after-hours dispatch team. For anything urgent late at night, it's worth calling ahead and confirming current wait times rather than assuming instant availability, the same advice that applies to most single-location plumbers regardless of city.

PS Plumbing Services is a solid fit for Detroit homeowners, particularly on the city's north end, who'd rather work with a small, local, independently owned plumber they can reach directly than route every call through a large company's dispatch system, and its decade of history in the neighborhood backs that reputation up.
