Editorial Review
Our Take on RDZ Plumbing And Drains
The drain and sewer side is where this one earns its place, and a 4.7 from 57 Google reviews backs up the impression of steady work rather than a lucky streak. We would still pin down the estimate terms and the after-hours rate on the phone, since 24-hour availability always costs something. Worth a call if a camera needs to go down your lateral.

About RDZ Plumbing And Drains
The address on 36th Street puts this business in the Normal Heights area, a short drive from Kensington, City Heights, North Park and the older streets running down toward Mission Valley. That geography matters for a plumber. A good share of housing in those neighbourhoods went up between the 1920s and the 1950s, which means galvanised supply lines that have narrowed from the inside out, cast iron drains that have scaled and cracked, and clay sewer laterals with root intrusion at every joint. The service list published by rdz plumbing and drains lines up with that reality: camera inspections, hydrojet cleaning, sewer pipe lining, trenchless sewer repair, slab leak repair and whole-house repiping all appear.
For day-to-day problems, the range is broad. Blocked or slow drains, leaking pipes, running toilets, faucet replacement, garbage disposals, shower installation and water heater work are all listed, along with tankless systems, whole-house filtration and backflow installation and repair. Gas work appears in two forms, detection and repair, which is worth noting because a gas smell is a call where you want someone who can find the leak rather than just shut the meter and leave.
Commercial and managed property work is a stated focus rather than a sideline. The site names restaurants, multi-unit buildings, HOAs and property managers, and it lists grease trap installation and multi-unit plumbing as separate services. Restaurant kitchens in San Diego are inspected on grease interceptor maintenance, and a plumber who already runs a jetter and a camera is a more useful partner for that than a general handyman. Property managers with a dozen doors tend to care about one thing above all, which is whether the phone gets answered at ten at night. Published hours say 24 hours, every day.
On the evidence, the reputation is solid. The Google Business Profile showed 4.7 from 57 reviews when read on September 27, 2026, a score that suggests consistent work with the occasional unhappy customer rather than either a flawless record or a pattern of complaints. Fifty-seven reviews is a moderate sample, enough to be meaningful and not so large that any single job disappears into the average. Reviews also sit on Facebook and Yelp, and the Yelp listing carries a National City address under a drain services name, which hints at where the business started before the current San Diego base. The company also says it was featured on the cover of Cleaner Magazine in 2023 for its growth and equipment investment, which is a trade publication rather than a consumer award, though it does point toward a company buying proper jetting and inspection gear.
Who it suits: anyone facing a recurring backup who wants the line scoped instead of snaked again, owners weighing a repipe against another patch, and businesses that need a plumber on a first-name basis. Who it may not suit: someone hunting the cheapest possible price on a straightforward water heater swap, since a company running 24-hour availability and heavy equipment carries the overhead that comes with both.
Before you book, ask a few specific things. Get the licence number and check it on the California Contractors State License Board site, since plumbing work of any size in San Diego requires a licensed contractor and permits are pulled through the city Development Services Department for repipes, sewer replacements and water heater changes. Ask whether the free estimate covers diagnostic work such as camera inspection or leak location, because those usually carry a fee in the trade and the site does not spell out where the line sits. Ask what the after-hours rate looks like against the daytime rate. On warranties, the site says options are available, so ask what is actually written on your invoice, how long parts and labour are covered, and whether a liner or trenchless replacement carries a separate manufacturer term.
Compared with the wider San Diego market, rdz plumbing and drains sits between the one-van operator who is cheap but cannot get to you on a Sunday and the large franchised outfits with dispatch centres and flat-rate books. Family-owned, equipment-heavy, drain-focused, with a genuine commercial side. For most sewer and drain problems in the older parts of the city, that is a sensible profile to have on the shortlist.

RDZ Plumbing And Drains FAQs
Is RDZ Plumbing And Drains available at night and on weekends?
Yes, the published hours show 24 hours a day, every day of the week, and the website advertises 24/7 emergency service. As with any plumber, expect after-hours labour to be priced differently from a scheduled daytime visit, so ask what the call-out rate is when you phone.
How is RDZ Plumbing And Drains rated?
The Google Business Profile showed 4.7 out of 5 from 57 reviews when read on September 27, 2026. Additional reviews sit on Facebook and on a Yelp listing under a National City drain services name, which appears to relate to the same business.
Do they handle sewer lines and not just clogged drains?
Yes. The service list includes sewer line repair, sewer pipe lining, trenchless sewer repair and camera inspections, alongside hydrojet drain cleaning. That combination matters in the older San Diego neighbourhoods where clay laterals and root intrusion are common causes of repeat backups.
Is the estimate really free?
The company advertises free same-day estimates. What is not stated is whether that covers diagnostic work such as a camera inspection or electronic leak location, which normally carries a charge in the plumbing trade, so confirm the scope before the van arrives.
Do they work for landlords, HOAs and restaurants?
Yes, managed and commercial property work is a stated focus. The site names property managers, HOAs, multi-unit buildings and restaurants, and lists grease trap installation, backflow installation and repair, and multi-unit plumbing as separate services.
Do I need a permit for a repipe or sewer replacement in San Diego?
Generally yes. Repipes, sewer line replacements and water heater changes normally require a permit through the City of San Diego Development Services Department, pulled by a licensed contractor. Ask who is handling the permit and whether the fee is inside the quoted price.
How long has the company been operating?
The company describes itself as family-owned with more than twenty years of industry experience, and says it was featured on the cover of Cleaner Magazine, a trade publication, in 2023 for its growth and equipment investment. A specific founding year is not published in the material reviewed.
Is RDZ Plumbing And Drains licensed and insured?
We have no credential records on file for this company yet. Ask for the certificate directly from the insurer before booking work.
What areas does RDZ Plumbing And Drains serve?
San Diego. Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. Confirm your address before scheduling, particularly at the edge of a service area.
Does RDZ Plumbing And Drains offer emergency service?
Emergency availability is not listed for this company. If you need an urgent call-out, check the ranking for companies that do list it.
What warranty do they offer?
Warranty terms are not on file. Ask for them in writing before work starts.
How was this profile built?
Credentials come from issuing authorities, ratings from the company's Google Business Profile with the date we read them, and the editorial take from our own review of estimates, warranty documents and public feedback. Anything the business told us is labelled as reported.
Can a business pay to improve its profile?
A business can subscribe to manage its own listing details, and it can buy a labelled sponsored placement. Neither changes a ranking position or the editorial assessment on this page.
