Our Take on TBC Garage Doors
The review record is the strongest signal here, with 291 reviews at 4.9 as of September 3, 2026, and the service list is broad enough to cover almost anything a Toronto garage door throws at you. The gap between the advertised round-the-clock availability and the published hours, plus two different phone numbers, is worth clearing up in the first call. Get the ninety day guarantee terms in writing and this is a sensible shortlist entry.
Best for: evening and Sunday spring or opener repairs across Toronto and the GTA
What We Like
- 4.9 rating from 291 Google reviews as of September 3, 2026
- Evening hours to 10 PM most days, including Sunday
- Covers repair, replacement and full installation for both homes and commercial units
- Insulation, sealing and weatherstripping offered as standalone jobs, not only with a new door

Things to Consider
- Published hours list Saturday as closed, which sits awkwardly with the round-the-clock claim on the website
- The Google listing and the website show different phone numbers
- Licensing, bonding, insurance and the ninety day guarantee are company claims and should be confirmed in writing
- No pricing is published, so ask about call-out and diagnostic fees up front

iAbout service coverage
Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. A company will often travel beyond the areas listed here for a large job and decline a small one at the same distance, so confirm your address before scheduling.
About TBC Garage Doors
A garage door in Toronto works harder than most people give it credit for. Salt and slush get thrown against the bottom panel all winter, humidity swells wooden jambs in July, and a door on a narrow lot laneway often opens and closes six or eight times a day. That mix is what keeps a company like TBC Garage Doors busy, and the service list reflects it: spring replacement, opener repair and setup, panel replacement, lock work, remote programming, sealing and weatherstripping, insulation upgrades, and full replacement doors for homes and commercial units alike.
The address is a unit on St Clair Avenue West, near the Corso Italia stretch, and the coverage described on the company website runs well beyond it. Mississauga, Brampton, Scarborough, North York, Vaughan, Etobicoke and Oakville are named, along with Durham Region towns including Ajax, Whitby, Pickering and Oshawa, and points north to Newmarket and Barrie. That is a wide radius. It is worth confirming on the phone that your postal code sits inside the regular service area rather than at the outer edge, because travel distance tends to shape how quickly a technician can actually arrive.
On the residential side, the most common call is a snapped torsion spring, which usually announces itself with a bang from the garage and a door that will not lift. That is not a job to attempt yourself. Springs hold serious stored energy, and a proper repair means matching wire gauge, inside diameter and wind to the weight of the door, then rebalancing so the opener is not doing work the springs should be doing. Ask whether both springs are being replaced on a two-spring door, since replacing only the broken one tends to bring the technician back within a year or two.
Older Toronto housing stock creates its own quirks. Semis and rowhouses in the west end often have shallow headroom above the opening, low-clearance track kits, and detached garages off a rear laneway with no heating and questionable framing. Detached garages on lanes also raise the question of whether a new opener has usable wifi coverage from the house, which matters if you want the smart opener setup the company advertises. Insulated doors are a genuine consideration for anyone with a bedroom or bonus room above the garage, and TBC Garage Doors lists insulation, sealing and weatherstripping as standalone services rather than only as part of a new door sale, which is useful if the existing door is sound and just leaking heat around the perimeter.
The commercial work covers rollup and overhead doors, spring and opener repair, panel replacement, barrier arms and fire shutters. For a warehouse bay in Etobicoke or a loading door behind a St Clair storefront, downtime is the real cost, so it is fair to ask about parts availability for your specific door and whether a temporary fix can hold until a panel arrives.
The Google Business Profile carried a 4.9 rating from 291 reviews when it was checked on September 3, 2026. That volume suggests a steady flow of residential jobs over several years rather than a handful of glowing entries. The company describes itself as family owned, and states that its technicians are licensed, insured and bonded, that it operates around the clock with a twenty minute maximum response time, and that it backs work with a ninety day service guarantee. Those are the company's own claims and have not been independently checked here, so get the guarantee terms and the insurance confirmation in writing before work starts.
A few practical notes. Published hours show 7 AM to 10 PM Monday through Thursday and again on Sunday, 7 AM to 6 PM Friday, and Saturday closed, which does not sit neatly alongside a twenty four hour availability claim, so ask directly if you need a Saturday call. The Google listing and the website also show different phone numbers, and either should reach the same office. Finally, ask for a quoted price before the technician arrives, including any call-out or diagnostic fee and whether it is credited against the repair. Toronto has plenty of garage door outfits, from national franchises to one-truck operators, and the ones worth using are the ones that will put a number and a warranty term in a message before they knock.

TBC Garage Doors FAQs
What areas does TBC Garage Doors cover?
Toronto and a wide band of the surrounding region. The company website names Mississauga, Brampton, Scarborough, North York, Vaughan, Etobicoke, Oakville and Burlington, along with Durham Region towns such as Ajax, Pickering, Whitby and Oshawa, and points north including Richmond Hill, Newmarket and Barrie. Its base is a unit on St Clair Avenue West in Toronto. If you are near the outer edge of that radius, confirm coverage and likely arrival time when you book.
Is it open on weekends?
Sunday yes, Saturday no, according to the published hours. The listing shows 7 AM to 10 PM Monday through Thursday and on Sunday, 7 AM to 6 PM on Friday, and Saturday closed. The company website separately advertises round-the-clock availability, so if you need a Saturday visit it is worth calling to ask which applies.
How good are the reviews?
The Google Business Profile showed 4.9 out of 5 from 291 reviews when it was read on September 3, 2026. That is a high average across a reasonably large number of reviews, which usually points to consistency rather than a few strong entries. Ratings move over time, so check the current figure before you book.
Can a broken garage door spring be repaired the same day?
Often yes, since spring replacement is one of the most common calls and technicians typically carry stock. TBC Garage Doors lists spring repair for both residential and commercial doors and advertises urgent scheduling. On a door with two springs, ask whether both are being replaced, because swapping only the failed one tends to lead to a second visit before long.
Does it handle commercial doors as well as residential?
Yes. The commercial list includes new installations, rollup and overhead door repair, panel replacement, spring repair, opener replacement, barrier and overhead arm gates, and fire shutters. For a loading bay or storefront, ask about parts lead time for your specific door and whether a temporary fix can keep the opening usable in the meantime.
What should I ask before booking?
Ask for a quoted price, the call-out or diagnostic fee, and whether that fee is credited against the repair. Also confirm the terms of the ninety day service guarantee the company advertises, and ask for proof of insurance. Because the Google listing and the website carry different phone numbers, note which one you used so any follow-up goes to the same place.
Is insulating an existing garage door worth it in Toronto?
It usually is if there is a bedroom, office or living space next to or above the garage. Toronto winters push the temperature difference far enough that an uninsulated door and worn perimeter seals show up on the heating bill and in cold floors upstairs. Insulation, sealing and weatherstripping are offered separately from a new door, so a sound older door can often be improved without full replacement.
Is TBC Garage Doors licensed and insured?
We have no credential records on file for this company yet. Ask for the certificate directly from the insurer before booking work.
What areas does TBC Garage Doors serve?
Toronto, Mississauga, Concord, North York, Etobicoke, Scarborough, Oakville, Burlington, Ajax, Brampton, Richmond Hill, Whitby, Vaughan, Pickering, Milton. Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. Confirm your address before scheduling, particularly at the edge of a service area.
Does TBC Garage Doors offer emergency service?
Yes, the company lists emergency availability. Response time depends on demand, and after a storm every company in the market is stretched.
What warranty do they offer?
90-day service guarantee. There are usually two warranties on a job: the manufacturer covers materials, the contractor covers workmanship. Get both in writing and check whether the workmanship coverage transfers if you sell.
