Our Take on The Comfort Authority

The dual licensing here is the real story: HVAC and plumbing under one Florida-licensed roof, with a Daikin dealer ranking to back up the cooling side. Worth a call for anyone who would rather not coordinate two separate contractors for a water heater and an AC unit.

Best for: Best for Daikin systems and veteran-owned service

About The Comfort Authority

The Comfort Authority operates out of North Nebraska Avenue in Tampa as a combined HVAC and plumbing company, holding two separate Florida licenses, CAC1818057 for HVAC work and CFC1433906 for plumbing. The company is veteran-owned and operated, a detail it features prominently, and it has built a reputation strong enough to rank among Daikin's top ten dealers in the Tampa Bay region.

Beyond the Daikin dealer standing, The Comfort Authority carries an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, a Yelp "People Love Us" badge dating back to 2015, and Nextdoor's Neighborhood Faves recognition in 2021, 2023 and 2024. It belongs to the Temple Terrace Uptown Chamber of Commerce. The company services both heating and air conditioning systems, along with plumbing, drain and water heater work, and runs emergency calls every day of the week, 24 hours a day. A membership program called the Comfort Plan covers routine maintenance, and financing is available for larger installs.

The company's service area is unusually broad for a locally based operator, covering more than 60 named neighborhoods stretching from Apollo Beach to Zephyrhills. What is not published on the site is a specific founding year or the names of the company's owners, somewhat unusual for a company that markets its veteran-owned status this heavily.

The Comfort Authority holds a 4.9 rating from 1,924 Google reviews, read on September 24, 2026, one of the higher ratings among Tampa's larger-volume HVAC and plumbing companies.

This is a strong option for anyone specifically interested in a Daikin system, or who wants to support a veteran-owned business, and the dual HVAC and plumbing licensing means the same company can often handle a water heater and an AC unit on the same visit. It is a less precise fit for someone who wants a narrowly focused HVAC specialist, since plumbing is clearly a co-equal part of the business. Confirm both the CAC1818057 and CFC1433906 license numbers are current through the Florida DBPR before signing a contract.
