- J Slaughter5.0Manning Mechanical did a great job with installing my new boiler. They were fast, efficient, and professional. They did a great job cleaning up, and hauling away the old boiler plus my recently replaced water heater at no extra charge. They also instructed me in how to maintain the new boiler. They will be my first and only call for boiler and water heater repair and maintenance. I strongly recommend them.May 2026Google
- Kelly Roberts5.0I had a great experience with this company. Dairon Winston did an outstanding job on my boiler. Very professional, efficient, and knowledgeable. Everything is running perfectly now. Highly recommend their services.March 2026Google
- Terry Anderson1.0On March 13, 2026, I received a google response from Manning Mech, I guess this is finally a response from my January 2026 no heat phone call. I do not appreciate your company's response saying your workers tried to call and got no response. I'm retired and am home all day and would never not answer my phone especially when I did not have heat. I spoke with Alyssa over and over saying that a technician was on there way and never showed. I followed up with a call to her the next day and was told the tech got stuck on a call. I'm important too!!!!!! So don't make excuses for your incompetent staff. Thanks for your quick response to my no heat problem (2 Months later). Will never use you again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Should be no stars......March 2026Google

About Manning Mechanical
Manning Mechanical has worked from a shop on West McNichols Road in Detroit for more than 20 years, and the company's specialty in hydronic, or boiler, piping sets it apart in a city where a large share of the older housing stock still runs on radiator heat rather than forced air.
The service list covers boiler repair and installation, furnace repair and installation, central air conditioning, radiator repair, hot water heater service, and ductless mini-split systems. Manning describes itself as fully licensed, bonded, and insured, and it holds Google Guaranteed status, though it does not publish a specific state license number on its site. Interest-free financing options are available for larger jobs, and the company backs its installations with what it calls a robust limited warranty, though exact terms are not detailed.
Reviewers Jay Searcy and J Slaughter both describe boiler replacements completed in a single day, with one reviewer specifically noting the crew mopped the floor before leaving, a small detail that shows up more than once in the company's reviews. Office hours run standard weekday business hours rather than a round-the-clock schedule.
The company does not list individual technician names, years of experience, or a direct social media presence beyond icon links, and Detroit's mechanical contractor licensing runs through the state, not the city, so a specific license number is worth asking for directly.
Manning suits homeowners in older Detroit housing with boiler or radiator systems who want a specialist rather than a generalist HVAC company. It suits less well anyone needing a true after-hours emergency repair, since the company's hours are weekday daytime only. Ask for the specific Michigan mechanical contractor license number and confirm same-day availability before assuming emergency coverage.
