If you are looking to get your hardwood floors refinished I highly recommend Juan and his sister for the job. They were efficient and did a great job on my floors and got it done in a timely manner.

    Absolutely stunning transformation!
A special thank you to Juan and Maple, who worked tirelessly from start to finish. They were professional, careful, and clearly take great pride in their craft.

Our home was very well protected throughout the entire process, and they went the extra mile to make sure we were happy with the colour. They laid out stain samples directly on the bare wood so we could see how each option would actually look in our home, and then customized the stain to achieve exactly what we had in mind.

They also went above and beyond by taking care of several small repairs along the way, including fixing areas of the floor trim and filling gaps between the planks. Those extra details made a real difference to the finished result.

We are extremely happy with the workmanship and attention to detail. Juan and Maple clearly care about doing the job right, and it shows in the final result. Highly recommended!

Ps looking forward to
Seeing that Instagram posts Juan 😊

We just finished our floors with Newport Flooring, and we couldn’t be happier with the results!

A big thank you to Juan and his team for doing such an amazing job. They matched the old wood with the new wood perfectly, and the entire floor looks seamless. You can hardly tell where the old flooring ends and the new flooring begins.

The attention to detail, workmanship, and care throughout the project were outstanding. We’re located in Burlington, and we would definitely recommend Newport Flooring to anyone looking for quality flooring work.

Thank you, Juan and the whole Newport Flooring team, for such a great job!

Juan and his team were absolutely amazing to deal with, never late and paid attention to all the little details. The quality of work they produce is out of this world for a reasonable price. When its time for me to finish the upstairs of my home newport flooring would be the only company I recommend to make my floors look literally brand new.

Juan and his team did meticulous work blending old and new woods to match. They did a wonderful job doing my whole main floor and kept to their quoted price. The lack of dust was amazing!! I would highly recommend Newport Flooring for all your hardwood flooring needs.

  • Ivan Kotchoubei5.0

We could not be happier with the work Juan and his sister Mabel did restoring the original hardwood floors in our 1895 Victorian home.

Restoring 130-year-old floors is very different from simply refinishing newer hardwood, and Juan and Mabel approached the project with an incredible amount of care, skill and attention to detail. They worked tirelessly — including non-stop through the weekend — and the transformation they achieved is remarkable.

The floors have been brought back to life while still retaining the character and history that make them so special. The finish is absolutely beautiful and exceeded our expectations. What could easily have looked tired and worn now feels like one of the standout features of the house.

Beyond the quality of their work, we were incredibly impressed by Juan and Mabel's work ethic, pride in their craft and determination to get the result right. It is increasingly rare to come across people who care this much about the quality of the finished product.

Company Background

About Newport Flooring

Newport Flooring is a hardwood specialist working from 274 East 28th Street on the Hamilton Mountain. The business refinishes hardwood floors and staircases, installs hardwood and refinishes kitchen cabinets. Its website describes a dustless sanding process, Bona finishes, more than 18 years in business and more than 1,000 completed projects, and lists a 2023 TrustedPros award and a Houzz service nomination. Service areas named on the site are Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Mississauga and the wider Greater Toronto Area. The about page says the company is fully licensed and insured and offers free estimates.

Google shows 4.8 from 100 Google reviews, read November 1, 2026. The reviews read like a refinishing specialist's. One homeowner says Juan and his team matched old wood with new so the join disappeared. A buyer of a house with rough floors says Juan and his sister brought them back to life quickly and at a fair price. Another thanks Juan and Maple for protecting the house and working carefully from start to finish, and a fourth says the crew was never late and finished the upstairs floors as promised.

Two cautions apply. This is a refinishing and hardwood shop, so carpet, vinyl and tile jobs belong with a different company. The website lists a Gmail address for contact and does not publish a licence number, so ask what licence and insurance documents sit behind the claim and request copies.

Newport Flooring suits homeowners with existing hardwood or stairs that need sanding, repair or a new finish, and buyers who want old and new boards blended. It suits less well anyone shopping for a wide range of flooring types in one place. Before booking, ask for a written scope that names the finish, the number of coats, how stains will be matched and the drying time before furniture returns.
