Editorial Review
Our Take on Plomberie 5 Etoiles
The combination of drain specialisation, camera diagnostics and flood protection is exactly the skill set Montreal's older sewer infrastructure demands, and a 4.8 from 145 Google reviews suggests the execution holds up. Credentials are self-reported but all publicly checkable, which is a fair position for a directory reader to verify in five minutes. Get the after-hours rate confirmed before dispatch and this is a reasonable first call for a backup or a wet basement.

iAbout service coverage
Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. A company will often travel beyond the areas listed here for a large job and decline a small one at the same distance, so confirm your address before scheduling.
About Plomberie 5 Etoiles
Drain work sits at the centre of what this company sells, and the service list reflects that. Kitchen and bathroom drains, tubs and showers, blocked toilets, main drain root cutting, sewer and drain cleaning, and high-pressure jetting all appear as separate offerings, which usually signals a firm that owns the machines rather than subbing the work out. Alongside that sits a camera inspection service used for diagnosing collapses, cracks and blockages, and for pre-purchase inspections when someone is buying an older Montreal duplex and wants to know what the clay or cast iron under the slab looks like before signing.
The second pillar is flood protection. Sump pump installation, battery-backed backup pumps, backwater valves, smoke testing to find where a system is venting or leaking, and drain excavation when a line has failed beyond repair. Anyone who has lived through a July thunderstorm in Montréal-Nord, Rivière-des-Prairies or Ahuntsic knows why this exists. Combined sewers in older sectors surcharge, and a basement without a clapet anti-retour becomes the lowest point in the system. Several boroughs run subsidy programs for backwater valve and sump pump installation, so it is worth asking whether the company can supply the paperwork a subsidy claim needs.
General plumbing rounds it out. Water heaters, taps and sinks, toilet installation, garburator and dishwasher hookups, leak repair, frozen pipe thawing, and commercial plumbing. Bathroom and kitchen renovation plumbing is mentioned too. That mix means plomberie 5 etoiles can plausibly handle both a one-hour cartridge swap and a multi-day excavation, though a homeowner planning a full repipe of a 1920s triplex should ask directly about that specific experience rather than assume it.
On credentials, the company states it is licensed by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec and is a member of the Corporation des maîtres mécaniciens en tuyauterie du Québec. Those are claims from its own site rather than something verified here, but both are easy to check: the RBQ licence register is public, and the CMMTQ maintains a member directory. Ask for the licence number when you book. It also lists a CAA-Québec recommendation going back more than ten years, membership in the AECQ, and a Home Depot Pro partnership.
The Google Business Profile carried a 4.8 rating from 145 reviews when read on September 25, 2026. Reviewers visible on the company's own site repeatedly mention same-day attendance, courteous technicians and clear explanation of what the camera found. That pattern, speed plus explanation, matches what the business promotes, though reviews shown on a company website are self-selected and the Google page is the better place to read the full spread.
Who it suits: owners of older housing stock in the east end and north of the island dealing with recurring backups, tree roots in the main line, or a basement that takes on water every spring. Buyers who want a drain camera run before closing. Landlords and small commercial operators who need someone reachable at two in the morning. Who it may suit less: anyone shopping purely on price for a simple fixture swap, since a 24/7 operation carries the overhead of keeping people and trucks available, and that tends to show up in the invoice.
Before hiring, settle a few things by phone. What is the call-out charge, and does it differ evenings, weekends and statutory holidays. Is the diagnosis quoted as a flat fee or hourly, and does the camera inspection cost get credited against the repair. Who pulls the permit if excavation or a sewer connection is involved, since the city and borough rules govern that. What warranty applies to parts and to labour, and is it written on the invoice. If a backwater valve is going in, ask whether the installation meets the borough's subsidy criteria.
Compared with the wider Montreal market, plomberie 5 etoiles positions itself in the same lane as the drain and sewer specialists rather than the general renovation plumbers. Bilingual service is indicated by the English section of its site. It maintains active Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn and YouTube presences, the last of which tends to be where drain firms post camera footage, useful if you want to see the diagnostic work before you call.

Plomberie 5 Etoiles FAQs
Is Plomberie 5 Etoiles available at night and on weekends?
Its published hours list open 24 hours, seven days a week, and the company promotes 24/7 emergency response. Call 514-447-3700 to confirm availability and ask what the after-hours call-out charge is, since evening, weekend and holiday rates in this trade are typically higher than weekday ones.
What areas does the company cover?
The company states it serves Montreal, Laval, the Rive-Sud and the Rive-Nord. Its office is at 5979 Boul Henri-Bourassa E in Montréal-Nord, so the east end and north of the island are likely the quickest to reach. Confirm coverage for your postal code when you book.
How is Plomberie 5 Etoiles rated?
Its Google Business Profile showed 4.8 stars from 145 reviews when read on September 25, 2026. Reviews visible on the company's own website mention same-day service and clear explanations of camera findings, though site-hosted reviews are self-selected and the Google listing gives a fuller picture.
Do they do camera inspections before a home purchase?
Yes, pre-purchase drain inspection is listed as a service. A camera run through the main line can reveal root intrusion, cracks, offsets and sags without digging, which is useful on older Montreal properties where the lateral may be clay or cast iron. Ask whether you receive a recording or written report.
Can they install a backwater valve or sump pump for basement flooding?
Flood protection is one of its main service categories, covering sump pump installation, battery backup pumps, backwater valves, drain excavation and smoke testing. Several Montreal boroughs offer subsidies toward backwater valve and sump pump work, so ask whether the installation and documentation will satisfy your borough's program.
Is the company licensed?
It states on its website that it is licensed by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec and is a member of the CMMTQ. Those are the company's own claims rather than something confirmed here. Both are publicly checkable, so request the RBQ licence number and look it up before work begins.
Do they speak English?
The website carries an English version, which suggests bilingual service. Confirm when you call if you would prefer the technician to work in English.
Is Plomberie 5 Etoiles licensed and insured?
We checked 0 of 7 credentials against the issuing authority. Verified items carry the date we checked; reported items are what the business told us and we could not independently confirm.
What areas does Plomberie 5 Etoiles serve?
Montreal, Lasalle, Saint-Laurent, Outremont. Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. Confirm your address before scheduling, particularly at the edge of a service area.
Does Plomberie 5 Etoiles offer emergency service?
Yes, the company lists emergency availability. Response time depends on demand, and after a storm every company in the market is stretched.
What warranty do they offer?
Satisfaction guaranteed. There are usually two warranties on a job: the manufacturer covers materials, the contractor covers workmanship. Get both in writing and check whether the workmanship coverage transfers if you sell.
How was this profile built?
Credentials come from issuing authorities, ratings from the company's Google Business Profile with the date we read them, and the editorial take from our own review of estimates, warranty documents and public feedback. Anything the business told us is labelled as reported.
Can a business pay to improve its profile?
A business can subscribe to manage its own listing details, and it can buy a labelled sponsored placement. Neither changes a ranking position or the editorial assessment on this page.
