We had an exceptional experience with Nik and his crew. Nik was extremely patient with us as we worked through our issues with our insurance company; once we were ready to go he booked us in to get the job done right away. The crew showed up on-time and ready to go. They were efficient and professional. We couldn't have asked for a better team to help us out after the great Canada Day flood of 2026. Trust me, you want these guys for your wet basement job.

All around excellent experience. We hired Wet Basement Solutions for work in our basement (interior and exterior). Nik made the quote process easy and customer friendly. He was very responsive and answered all our questions. The team that did the work was highly professional, hardworking and respectful. All around fantastic. The work proceeded on the date scheduled and on time. They explained each step to me, and kept me up to date on how the work was progressing. Afterward, the job site was spotless, and Nik followed up with us right away. I would 100% hire them again.

Nik and his team did a great job assessing my leaky basement and providing a solution. They documented it well and explained the whole process. Communication was clear and they helped with the city permit too. I feel lucky we got them in when we did

Company Background

About Wet Basement Solutions

Wet Basement Solutions sells a patented interior drainage system called Water Trek Aqua Route, which the company says channels water from the wall above and the footing below and can be fitted to different soil and footing conditions without exterior digging. The company was founded in Carleton Place in 2008 by a founder named Doug, and its Google listing shows a base at 3591 Innes Road, Unit 4, in Orleans, on the east side of Ottawa. Its own website still gives 915 Ramsay Concession Road 1 in Carleton Place, roughly 45 km west of downtown, as the contact address, so ask which crew and yard will serve your street.

Interior work covers leaks at cove joints, floor cracks, wall cracks, mortar joints, pipe penetrations and tie rods. Cracks are treated with polyurethane injection and a Techni-Crack hydrophobic membrane, and sump pumps are the Water Grabber Bull Dog. The company also lists crawl space encapsulation, foundation repair, underpinning, exterior foundation waterproofing with excavation, egress windows and plumbing. Its service area page names Ottawa, Orleans, Kanata, Barrhaven, Stittsville, Manotick, Greely, Cumberland and Richmond, along with many Eastern Ontario towns.

Wet Basement Solutions has 5.0 from 132 Google reviews, read October 21, 2026. Reviewers name Nik for visiting on a weekend, explaining the options and booking work within about a week. Michelle had a basement and bedrock encapsulation done and said the musty smell was gone. Another homeowner said the crew supplied every document requested and added a drain pipe for a water softener at no charge. A small foundation crack repair was described as quick and clean. Google lists hours of 6 AM to 11 PM every day. The company offers free quotes, FinanceIt financing and a lifetime warranty, although the site does not say whether that warranty passes to a new owner.

This company suits east Ottawa and suburban homeowners who want an interior system and one contractor for waterproofing and crawl space work. It suits less well anyone who wants a long established office nearby, since the website's listed base is Carleton Place, or who wants a published licence number, because none appears. Ontario has no waterproofing specific licence. Before booking, ask for a WSIB clearance certificate, proof of liability insurance, a written plan for any City of Ottawa permit, the full warranty text, and check the company on the Ontario Business Registry.

  • Does Wet Basement Solutions offer a warranty, financing and service in Orleans and Kanata?

Yes to all three on paper. The website advertises a lifetime warranty, FinanceIt financing with approvals in about 48 hours, and a service area that names Ottawa, Orleans, Kanata, Barrhaven, Stittsville, Manotick and Greely. The site does not publish the warranty wording or say whether it transfers to a new owner, so ask for the full terms in writing before work starts.

There are usually two warranties on a job: the manufacturer covers materials, the contractor covers workmanship. Get both in writing and check whether the workmanship coverage transfers if you sell.
