iHow this is made

This summary is generated from the verified data on this profile: services, service area, credentials, warranty terms and the company's Google review record. Editorial Standards

Glenmore Door Services is a Calgary garage door dealer and installer working from a showroom at 7139 40 St SE, with a stated history in the city going back to 1975. Customers in the reviews we read keep coming back to the same things: new doors that open quietly, installers who clean up after themselves, and quotes that came in well under a competitor's. The company installs and repairs residential and commercial overhead doors, fits LiftMaster openers with myQ connectivity, and carries Clopay, Hormann, Steel-Craft, CHI, Amarr, Garaga and its own Decorator Series built in Calgary. Repairs carry a one-year warranty and new doors carry a one-year install warranty alongside the manufacturer's. 4.8 from 180 Google reviews, read October 24, 2026.

Editorial Review

Our Take on Glenmore Door Services

Glenmore Door Services earns its place on the strength of replacement work: reviewers describe showroom staff who find options quickly and installers who show up when promised. The office keeps short weekday hours and does not advertise after-hours calls, so it suits planned jobs better than midnight emergencies.

Had a bit of a tricky garage door situation, cause of a really low ceiling. Jim was able to do a pretty good job installing all new door and hardware. it seals pretty well, I am looking forward to a warmer garage in the cold weather. UPDATE had a second garage door installed by them as well, went great again. Branden and Kris I think, were the 2 guys that did the on-site work; it was good dealing with them!

Omg. I just love my garage door. Kris and Brandon did an excellent job installing this gorgeous door. Very meticulous, personable and professional. I am very impressed wirh my entire experience with this company and these two gentlemen. The door is a steel craft weathered wood door just in case you are wondering about the colour. I highly recommend.

Company Background

About Glenmore Door Services

Customers praise Glenmore Door Services most for what happens after the sale: doors that open quietly, installers who leave the garage clean, and prices that surprised people in a good way. One reviewer said another company quoted more than twice what Glenmore invoiced for the same job. Another called it a well managed family business. The company works from a showroom and shop at 7139 40 St SE in Southeast Calgary and says it has served the city since 1975, although one page on its own site says 1976. Reviewers name the people they dealt with. Josh and Kris come up as installers, Kris and Brandon as a pair on a hail-damage replacement, and Jim, John and Nicolas as the showroom staff who patiently priced options. One homeowner took a year to decide and still got multiple quotes without pressure.

The product range is wide. Glenmore Door Services sells Clopay, Hormann, Steel-Craft, CHI, Amarr, Garaga and Esteem doors, plus its own Decorator Series made in a Calgary facility, and it installs LiftMaster openers with myQ smartphone control. Repair work covers broken springs, frayed cables, seized rollers and opener problems, with insurance work and free quotes listed. Repairs carry a one-year warranty, and new doors, operators and accessories carry a one-year install warranty on top of the manufacturer's. The company also fits roll shutters and commercial doors, and it travels to Fernie, Radium and Invermere in British Columbia. It lists a BBB A+ rating, two HomeStars wins, and association logos for the Alberta Construction Safety Association, BILD Calgary and a workplace safety certificate.

The weak spots are practical. Hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM and Friday 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM, with no weekend or emergency line advertised, and the website looks dated. All five reviews we read were positive, so we found no recurring complaint.

Glenmore Door Services suits homeowners planning a replacement door or opener who want to see options in a showroom. It suits people who need a repair at 9 PM less well. Before booking, ask for a written quote, the spring cycle rating, the warranty terms in writing, and confirm the business with the City of Calgary business licence lookup, the Alberta Corporate Registry and a WCB Alberta clearance letter, since Alberta does not license garage door contractors provincially. 4.8 from 180 Google reviews, read October 24, 2026.
