And if they couldn’t answer a question right away, you’d get an answer before the end of the day. Highly recommend GreenPump Energy!September 2026Google

Will helped us understand the options and select the units that made the most sense and Katie was great to communicate with once we were booked in. About GreenPump Energy
GreenPump Energy works out of a Kempt Road address in Halifax, and its Google listing currently shows a 4.7-star average across 164 reviews, read September 23, 2026. The company's focus is narrow and clear: ducted and ductless mini-split heat pump installation for homes across the Halifax Regional Municipality.
A meaningful part of GreenPump Energy's public positioning centers on Nova Scotia's Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program, a provincial and federal rebate program aimed at helping low-to-moderate income households replace oil furnaces with heat pumps at little or no upfront cost. The company states it offers free home assessments and personalized quotes as a starting point, and describes its technicians as certified professionals focused on precision installation and after-installation support.
Nova Scotia's older housing stock, much of it heated with oil for decades, is a big part of why this rebate program exists and why a company built around it has a genuine niche. Beyond the program angle, GreenPump Energy's own website is thin on the specifics this kind of profile usually draws on: no founding year, no named owners or technicians, no published Better Business Bureau rating, no listed brand partnerships, no stated emergency service hours, and no financing or warranty terms beyond the rebate program itself. The company doesn't publish a direct email address on its site either. Standard business hours run Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., based on its Google listing.
That thinness is itself worth noting: GreenPump Energy reads as a smaller, more narrowly focused operation than some of the multi-trade companies on this list, which may suit a homeowner whose only need is a straightforward heat pump install under a rebate program, but it also means less to verify online before calling.
GreenPump Energy suits a homeowner specifically looking to use the Oil to Heat Pump Affordability Program to switch off oil heat and who wants a company that works with that program directly. It suits less well someone who wants a long company history, named technicians, or detailed warranty terms to review before booking. Ask directly about the technician's Nova Scotia refrigeration mechanic certification, current program eligibility, and installation warranty before signing.
