- Pavan Puri5.0Mark and his team are amazing. Very professional. They installed 6 internal units and 2 external heat pumps for us. The price they stated is what the invoice showed. There were no other hidden costs. They came on time, did the work professionally and answered every single question that was asked. They even helped us decide where to place the units to make sure that they were effective. I would definitely recommend them again. One of the best answers to the question that I asked was "How do I sign up for regular maintenance?" The answer was "You don't have to if the job is done properly and also, the maintenance of the units can be done easily." Mark was extremely quick to respond to all the questions. Thanks again for a fantastic job!!June 2026Google

- E M5.0Great experience, would highly recommend this company, Mark the owner is a fantastic guy he went above and beyond and came over and made sure everything was working properly. Installation was a breeze. I have another older heat pump in my basement I’m going to be giving them a call when it’s time for that unit to be replaced :)April 2026Google

About Ace Refrigeration and Air Conditioning
Ace Refrigeration and Air Conditioning runs out of Bedford, one of the communities that make up the Halifax Regional Municipality, as a family-owned and operated shop with a Google rating that's hard to beat: a perfect 5.0 stars across 115 reviews, current as of September 22, 2026, with customers specifically naming owner Mark for his responsiveness.
The company's Red Seal certified technicians, interprovincially ticketed and able to work anywhere in Canada, split their work between residential and commercial jobs. On the home side that means heat pump installation and service, furnace work, central and ductless air conditioning, and ongoing maintenance plans. Commercially, Ace handles HVAC service contracts, refrigeration repair and maintenance for businesses running walk-in coolers or display cases, rooftop unit work, and VRF variable refrigerant flow system installs, plus electrical services including panel upgrades, EV charger installation, and the wiring that supports new HVAC equipment. Brands on the site include Mitsubishi Electric, Lennox, York, Gree, LG, and Ameristar.
Every estimate comes as a written, itemized quote after an in-home assessment, and the company advertises same-day response "when we can," a hedge rather than a guarantee. Financing runs through Financeit for customers who want to spread out a larger installation. Ace keeps standard business hours, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., and doesn't advertise weekend or overnight emergency service, a real difference from shops that lead with 24/7 coverage.
No specific Nova Scotia Apprenticeship Agency certification number is published for individual technicians beyond the general Red Seal claim, and the site doesn't detail written warranty terms on installed equipment. The phone number on the company's own site differs from the one listed on its Google profile; this listing uses the Google number.
Ace suits a homeowner or small business in the Bedford-Halifax-Dartmouth corridor who wants a genuinely family-run shop with a spotless recent review record and is comfortable scheduling within normal business hours. It suits less well someone who needs guaranteed weekend or middle-of-the-night emergency repair. Ask for the technician's Nova Scotia refrigeration mechanic or gasfitter certification number and current written warranty terms before signing for an installation.
