Calgary's electrical trade splits fairly neatly into two kinds of work, and this company says it does both. There is the small, urgent job: a tripped breaker that will not reset, a dead circuit in a basement suite, scorched receptacles behind a dryer. Then there is planned work, the panel upgrade before a garage build, a 240 volt run to a hot tub, an EV charger on a home that was wired long before anyone thought about charging a car in the driveway. Premier Electrical Technician Inc. lists service pages for both ends of that range, plus commercial work, new construction wiring, lighting, ceiling fans, rewiring and home automation.

The address given is 6030 5 St SE, which puts the operation in the industrial belt south of Chinook, handy for the older inner-southeast and southwest neighbourhoods and for a run out to Okotoks. Service areas named on the website extend to Chestermere, Cochrane and Airdrie as well. For a Calgary homeowner, the geography matters mostly in how quickly someone can get to you and whether a follow-up visit for a permit inspection is a nuisance or a short drive.

On evidence, the numbers are good. The Google Business Profile carried a 5 out of 5 rating from 54 reviews when it was read on September 28, 2026. Fifty-four is not a huge sample, but a clean five across that many is not easy to hold either, and it usually points to a small team that handles its own scheduling and follow-up rather than passing calls through a dispatch centre. The company frames itself that way, saying you speak directly with an electrician when you call. The LinkedIn profile linked from the site belongs to Ryan Herauf, and the contact email is in his name, which suggests an owner still close to the work.

One thing to sort out early. Google lists the business as open 24 hours, seven days, and the website promotes emergency and same-day service. The footer of that same website lists Monday to Friday, 8:00 to 5:00, with weekends closed. Those two things can both be true if the office keeps regular hours while an on-call phone stays live, but if you are calling at 11pm in February with no heat because the furnace circuit is dead, ask plainly whether someone is actually coming tonight and what the after-hours rate is. Overtime and callout charges in Calgary vary a lot between companies, and the difference between a weekday minimum and a Sunday night minimum is worth knowing before the van arrives.

A few other questions serve you well in this trade here. Ask whether the electrician holds an Alberta journeyman ticket and whether the company works under a master electrician's permit, since Alberta requires an electrical permit for panel changes, service upgrades, new circuits and most EV charger installs, and the permit and inspection should be part of the quote rather than a surprise later. Ask whether ENMAX needs to be involved for a service upgrade, because that scheduling, not the wiring, is usually what sets the timeline. For aluminum wiring in 1960s and 1970s houses, ask specifically how they terminate it, since that detail affects both safety and insurance. For a charger, ask about load calculation and whether a load management device will save you a full service upgrade.

Who it suits: homeowners and small business operators who want a named electrician on the other end of the phone, and who have a job in the repair-to-mid-project range, panel work, added circuits, hot tub and charger installs, lighting changes, tenant space fit-ups. Premier Electrical Technician Inc. also advertises commercial refrigeration installation and repair, which is a useful niche for restaurants and small grocers who otherwise have to call two trades.

Who it suits less well: anyone needing a large general contractor's electrical division for a multi-unit build, or a buyer who wants published flat-rate pricing and a written labour warranty visible before they call. The site promises upfront pricing but does not post rates, so the numbers come during the conversation. Compared with Calgary's bigger branded service companies, expect fewer vans and less marketing polish, with the trade-off usually being a shorter chain between the person quoting and the person doing the work.
