Editorial Review
Our Take on Tru-Max Security Inc.
Tru-Max suits homeowners and building managers who want a locksmith with a real shop in Nepean and a written one year workmanship guarantee. It is a stronger pick for commercial doors, master keying and Abloy systems than most mobile-only operators. The cancellation terms are strict, so read them before booking.

Company Background
About Tru-Max Security Inc.
Tru-Max Security Inc. works from a commercial unit at 200 Colonnade Road in the Nepean business park, which the company calls its shop, although its Google profile also describes the business as a mobile service. The firm says it has served the city and surrounding area since 2000, with more than 40 years of industry knowledge behind its technicians.
The service list covers both sides of the trade. Residential work includes lockouts, lock replacement, rekeying, key cutting, deadbolts, storm door locks, smart and keypad lock installation (the site names Schlage Encode), safe combination resets and repair of vintage furniture locks. Commercial and industrial work includes master key systems, electric strikes, panic bars, door closers, security hinges, key cabinets, steel door and frame installation, automatic door operators and Abloy PROTEC2 high security cylinders. There is also an automotive key service, though the core of the business is doors.
Tru-Max serves Ottawa, Nepean, Kanata, Orleans, Gloucester, Barrhaven, Westboro, the Glebe, Hunt Club, Stittsville, Manotick and Carp, plus Carleton Place and Almonte. The company is bonded and insured, lists membership in the Ontario Association of Locksmiths, and shows a BBB seal on its site. Emergency calls are taken 24 hours a day, and appointments can be booked online.
Reviewers keep mentioning one technician. Pat is praised for handling older locks, and Patrick is thanked for installing door handles and rekeying a home without fuss. Another customer said the locksmith came back to fix a problem and checked that everything worked. Google shows 4.9 from 162 Google reviews, read 2026-10-28. The reviews we read were all five stars, and none described a pricing complaint.
One caution is the cancellation policy. Customers must cancel at least six hours before a booked visit or pay the full service fee, and technicians wait a maximum of 15 minutes for a late client. The workmanship guarantee runs one year. Google also shows no opening hours and no customer photos for the listing, so call before you visit the unit.
Tru-Max suits homeowners who want locks rekeyed or upgraded by a known local company, and businesses that need master keying, panic hardware or Abloy systems. It suits people who only want the cheapest possible lockout less well, since it markets quality and security hardware. Ontario does not license locksmiths provincially, so before booking ask for the registered business name, proof of insurance, a firm price on the phone and photo ID from the technician. Also ask whether the lockout will be non-destructive and what the warranty covers on parts and labour.
