iAbout service coverage
Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. A company will often travel beyond the areas listed here for a large job and decline a small one at the same distance, so confirm your address before scheduling.
About Weather Makers NYC
Walk past almost any New York apartment building or hotel and you will see the grilles of packaged terminal air conditioners, or PTACs, set into the wall under the windows. These through-the-wall units heat and cool millions of rooms in the city, and they need their own kind of expertise. Weather Makers NYC has made them its main line of work. The company lists a Fifth Avenue address in NoMad and serves all five boroughs plus Long Island.
PTAC repair, installation, replacement and maintenance lead the service list, along with wall sleeve installation for new or resized openings. Weather Makers also handles through-the-wall units, water source heat pumps, fan coil units, ducted systems, mini-splits and general HVAC repair and installation. Brands include Islandaire, Ice Air, Amana, Applied Comfort and Trane. The website says the company is a contractor in New York City's HVAC rebate program, with rebates of up to $20,000 on qualifying projects, and it has a dedicated rebate email for that work. It also says it is BBB accredited and has completed more than 5,000 projects.
The reviews match the PTAC focus. One Manhattan customer had a PTAC diagnosed and fixed in under an hour. A business owner describes a Trane unit that had been down for nearly four weeks because nobody could source the replacement parts, until Weather Makers tracked them down. Another homeowner had split units installed before winter and praised the crew for working around their schedule and leaving the place clean. A technician named Tajinder is mentioned.
The Google profile lists the business as open 24 hours, and the website advertises 24/7 emergency and same-day service. It describes the company as licensed and insured but does not publish a license number, and warranty and financing terms are not listed.
Who it suits: apartment owners, co-op and condo boards, hotel operators and landlords with PTAC or through-the-wall units, and anyone trying to get a city rebate on an upgrade. Who it suits less well: owners of single-family houses with boilers, which is not a listed focus.
Before booking, ask which rebate your project qualifies for, whether the new PTAC fits your existing wall sleeve, and what the labor warranty covers.
