Our Take on Alpha Locksmith

Alpha is a van-based service with no public shop, so ask for the quote and ID up front. Within that limit it is one of the best-reviewed locksmiths in the city, with a named owner, insurance, late hours and a three-month warranty.

Bryce got our lock working but also noticed a different problem in the way the lock had been originally installed and corrected that as well. He is very efficient and seems to take pride in his work. I would definitely call him again.

Bryce came fast to fix the damage I made trying to fix our deadbolt myself. He explained where I went wrong and fixed it up quickly. It now legit works smoother and better than the day we moved in. Thank you!

Came within the hour, was very professional and extremely thorough, even making sure existing hardware was tight and well lubricated. Extremely well priced considering the operating hours. Will definitely be using again in the future.

Company Background

About Alpha Locksmith

Alpha Locksmith is a mobile locksmith run by owner Bryce Ferrie, who opened for business in 2012 and works from a van rather than a storefront. There is no public shop and Google lists no street address, so this is a call-ahead service: phone 905-818-3700, get the price, and confirm who is arriving before work starts.

Bryce's site lists a professional locksmith diploma from the International Career School of Westmount, Quebec, a HomeStars screening, registration with the International Association of Home Safety and Security Professionals, and business liability insurance with Desjardins. Hamilton, Ancaster, Stoney Creek, Dundas and Waterdown are all named service areas, along with Burlington, Grimsby, Milton and Brantford.

The work covers home and business lockouts, deadbolt and entrance set repairs and installations, rekeying, keypad and keyless locks, panic bars, door closers, electric strikes and card access. Safe openings are a real specialty. Alpha's Google page carries regular posts of safes and file cabinets it has opened, including a Medeco high security cam lock. Car lockouts and key programming are offered too, but this is a general locksmith, not an auto-only outfit. The site says infants and pets locked in a vehicle are let out free.

Alpha Locksmith shows 4.9 from 441 Google reviews, read 2026-10-29. Recent reviewers name Bryce and mention on-time arrival, same-visit fixes for problems they had not asked about, and prices they called reasonable. Google lists a $95 service charge covering travel and the first 15 minutes, $85 hourly labour after that and a $100 non-destructive lockout, all before tax. Hours run 9 AM to 9 PM on weekdays and noon to 9 PM on weekends. Key cutting is by appointment only, and a handful of one-star reviews exist, so read the low ones yourself.

It suits homeowners and small businesses who want the owner on the call and late hours. It suits less well anyone who wants a counter to walk into for quick key copies. Before booking, ask for the total in writing, a marked vehicle and photo ID on arrival, whether the lockout will be non-destructive, the three-month warranty on parts and labour, and proof of the liability insurance.
