Needed a dishwasher installed. Very easy to book over the phone. The technician was able to come a couple days after my call. He arrived on time during the given window, was friendly, professional, and polite. He finished the job in about an hour. The only extra charge on top the estimate was a braided hose to replace the old copper pipe. Very smooth experience. Will definitely use Capital Appliance Repair for any future appliance needs.

I had an outstanding experience with Capital Appliance. My dishwasher had completely stopped draining, and technician Vitalie quickly identified the problem as a failed drain pump. What impressed me most was how quickly he diagnosed the issue and explained everything clearly. Despite the dishwasher's model tag being missing, Vitalie was able to determine the exact model and source the correct replacement part. Once the part arrived, he returned promptly and had my dishwasher running like new again. Before contacting Capital Appliance, I had been given incorrect advice by another company that claimed the dishwasher couldn't be removed without taking up floor tiles and that the issue was simply a clogged drain. Vitalie proved otherwise. He removed the dishwasher without disturbing a single tile and correctly identified the real problem right away. Throughout the entire process, Vitalie was professional, respectful, personable, and accommodating. His expertise, honesty, and attention to detail turned what had become a frustrating situation into a smooth repair experience. I only wish I had called Capital Appliance first. I highly recommend Capital Appliance and especially Vitalie to anyone looking for reliable and knowledgeable appliance repair service.

George was competent, knowledgeable, and friendly. The failed part was very expensive, but much cheaper than a new dishwasher.

Company Background

About Capital Appliance Repair

Capital Appliance Repair works out of Unit 24 at 563 Gladstone Avenue in Ottawa's Centretown, and the company has been fixing household appliances around the National Capital Region since Artur Shifrin founded it in Stittsville in 2011. Artur still owns and runs it, and the site describes a family-owned shop with technicians who each carry more than 15 years of trade experience and handle roughly 4,500 repairs a year.

The service list covers refrigerators and freezers, dishwashers, washers, dryers, stoves and cooktops, and ovens, across more than 30 brands including Samsung, LG, Bosch, Whirlpool, KitchenAid, Miele, Sub-Zero, Wolf and Thermador. Technicians travel to Nepean, Kanata, Gloucester, Orleans, Barrhaven, Stittsville and Manotick, plus Gatineau across the river. One reviewer, Kim, was glad a technician drove out to Morewood, which she said few companies will do. The company says it is licensed, insured and TSSA-certified, and that it carries common parts in the van so many jobs finish on the first visit.

Reviewers describe a booking process that works. Jane reached a live person, picked a two hour window for the next day and had her dishwasher drain fixed, and the technician levelled the machine at no charge. George fixed a washer for April, and Erica praised George and Oleg for arriving early after a courtesy call. Drew called out Vitaly for a same day washer repair.

Capital Appliance Repair has 4.5 from 1,415 Google reviews, read 2026-10-27. Not every job ends in one visit. April's washer needed a part that meant a second appointment, and the warranty period is described differently by reviewers (90 days) and by the company website (up to one year on eligible repairs), so get the terms in writing.

Capital Appliance Repair suits Ottawa and suburban homeowners who want a booked two hour window, a quote before work and a service for mainstream or premium brands. It suits less well anyone who needs gas appliance work confirmed in advance, since the site lists electric stove and oven repair, or who wants a flat price over the phone. Before booking, ask what the service call fee is and whether it is credited toward the repair, what the parts and labour warranty covers and for how long, whether you will get a written quote before work begins, and whether the technician holds TSSA gas-fitter certification and the business is properly registered in Ontario, where appliance repair has no general licence.

Capital Appliance Repair FAQs

  • Is Capital Appliance Repair licensed and TSSA certified in Ottawa?

Capital Appliance Repair states on its website that its technicians are licensed, insured and TSSA-certified. Ontario has no general appliance repair licence, so ask the company to confirm TSSA gas-fitter certification if your appliance runs on gas, and ask for its business registration details. The site lists electric stove and oven repair, so confirm gas work before booking.

  • What are Capital Appliance Repair's hours and can I get same day appliance repair in Ottawa?

Capital Appliance Repair lists Google hours of 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM Monday to Friday and 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Saturday and Sunday. The company offers same day and next day appointments seven days a week when the schedule allows, with no extra charge for same day service, and two hour arrival windows. Refrigerator and freezer calls are prioritised because of food spoilage.

  • What warranty does Capital Appliance Repair give and which areas does it serve?

Capital Appliance Repair says eligible repairs carry a limited warranty on parts and labour of up to one year, though one reviewer mentioned a 90 day warranty, so ask for the exact terms in writing. The service call fee is waived when you approve the repair, and you receive the full price before work begins.

  • Is Capital Appliance Repair licensed and insured?

We checked 0 of 2 credentials against the issuing authority. Verified items carry the date we checked; reported items are what the business told us and we could not independently confirm.

  • What areas does Capital Appliance Repair serve?

Ottawa. Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. Confirm your address before scheduling, particularly at the edge of a service area.

  • Does Capital Appliance Repair offer emergency service?

Emergency availability is not listed for this company. If you need an urgent call-out, check the ranking for companies that do list it.

  • What warranty do they offer?

Limited warranty on eligible repairs covering parts and labour, described by the company as up to one year; confirm terms in writing.. There are usually two warranties on a job: the manufacturer covers materials, the contractor covers workmanship. Get both in writing and check whether the workmanship coverage transfers if you sell.

  • How was this profile built?

Credentials come from issuing authorities, ratings from the company's Google Business Profile with the date we read them, and the editorial take from our own review of estimates, warranty documents and public feedback. Anything the business told us is labelled as reported.

  • Can a business pay to improve its profile?

A business can subscribe to manage its own listing details, and it can buy a labelled sponsored placement. Neither changes a ranking position or the editorial assessment on this page.
