Editorial Standards

David Tulloch Roofing is an owner-run Ottawa company that says it has been in business since 1999. Google shows a perfect 5.0 from 127 reviews, read October 20, 2026. The website lists residential and commercial re-roofing with CertainTeed fiberglass shingles, rooftop ice and snow removal, a free estimate and a phone line that is answered 24/7. It states that the company is insured, licensed, in good standing with the WSIB and accredited by the Better Business Bureau, though it gives no numbers. Reviewers describe David arriving within hours for a missing shingle, sending a video clip of the full inspection, and finding a vent problem behind a mold complaint. The website looks dated and names no crew beyond the owner. It suits homeowners who want the person they call to be the person on the roof.

  • Best for repairs, small re-roofs and honest second opinions from the owner
  • Top of the Google results for Ottawa roofing with a 5.0 rating across 127 reviews
  • The website looks dated and gives few project details, so ask for photos of recent jobs

I had a roof leak after heavy rain and called David Tulloch Roofing for help. They responded promptly and arranged a team to come out the same day. Terron carefully inspected the roof, identified the problem, and clearly explained what needed to be done. They completed the necessary repairs right away at a very reasonable price. I especially appreciated Terron's professionalism, honesty, and practical advice about the longer-term condition of my roof. Excellent service and a great experience overall. Highly recommend!

It was great to have my small repair dealt with so quickly by David and team. He was responsive, and provided same day service, did a thorough job, friendly, professional and great pricing. Will be a returning customer for my next roofing needs.

I have a neighbour that was not repairing a roof collapse over their front porch in a townhome community. David came out to inspect my roof to ensure that my neighbours lack of maintenance would not cause issues for my roof/property. He took the time to explain the structure of the shared roof and answered all of my questions, which provided me with a significant level of reassurance to erase my concerns. I would definitely recommend him to friends and family.

Company Background

About David Tulloch Roofing

David Tulloch Roofing is a small, privately owned Ottawa company, and its website says it has been in business since 1999. The shop address is 2107 Saunderson Drive in the Urbandale area, and Google shows a perfect 5.0 from 127 reviews, read October 20, 2026.

The services are straightforward. David Tulloch Roofing handles residential and commercial re-roofing with fiberglass shingles, including CertainTeed 25-year and Landmark Lifetime lines, and it clears snow and ice from roofs in winter. The website offers a free estimate and lists the phone as available 24/7. It says the company is insured and licensed, in good standing with the WSIB and accredited by the Better Business Bureau, and that work carries both product and workmanship warranties. No account numbers or warranty lengths are published.

Reviews center on the owner himself. One homeowner called David about a missing shingle, and he arrived within hours, repaired it, inspected the whole roof and sent a short video of his findings. Another customer had mold at a bedroom corner and worried about a roof leak; David checked the attic, cleared blocked soffit vents and rerouted a bathroom fan instead of selling a new roof. A third reviewer said he spotted that a roof had been installed incorrectly and offered several fixes at a modest price. A cottage owner on the Rideau River hired Terron and his crew, who worked from sunrise to sunset for three days and cleaned the grounds.

The limits are plain. The website appears dated, with copyright years that stop at 2012, and it names no team beyond David. Hours on Google show Sunday opening only from 7:30 AM to 10:00 PM, and the company is small, so ask how soon a crew can start a large replacement.

Ontario does not issue a provincial roofing licence. Ask for a current WSIB clearance certificate, proof of liability insurance and a written contract naming the shingle line and warranty before you pay a deposit.

This company suits homeowners who value an owner on the roof, repairs and small re-roofs. It suits less well buyers who want a large crew, financing or an up-to-date website.

David Tulloch Roofing FAQs

  • Is David Tulloch Roofing licensed and insured?

The company says it is insured and in good standing with the WSIB, but it does not publish certificate or policy numbers. Ontario has no provincial roofing licence, so ask for the current WSIB clearance certificate and proof of liability insurance before work starts.

  • Can I reach David Tulloch Roofing in an emergency?

Google lists the business as open 24 hours Monday to Saturday and from 7:30am to 10pm on Sundays, and the company says its phone is answered around the clock. Call first, since a listed hour does not guarantee a crew is free that day.

  • What shingles and warranties does David Tulloch Roofing offer?

The company installs CertainTeed shingles, including 25-year and Landmark Lifetime options, and gives free estimates. Workmanship warranty terms are not published, so ask for them in writing in the contract.

  • Is David Tulloch Roofing licensed and insured?

We checked 0 of 2 credentials against the issuing authority. Verified items carry the date we checked; reported items are what the business told us and we could not independently confirm.

  • What areas does David Tulloch Roofing serve?

Ottawa. Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. Confirm your address before scheduling, particularly at the edge of a service area.

  • Does David Tulloch Roofing offer emergency service?

Yes, the company lists emergency availability. Response time depends on demand, and after a storm every company in the market is stretched.

  • What warranty do they offer?

Product and workmanship warranties per the website; CertainTeed 25-year and Landmark Lifetime shingles; durations of workmanship cover not stated. There are usually two warranties on a job: the manufacturer covers materials, the contractor covers workmanship. Get both in writing and check whether the workmanship coverage transfers if you sell.

  • How was this profile built?

Credentials come from issuing authorities, ratings from the company's Google Business Profile with the date we read them, and the editorial take from our own review of estimates, warranty documents and public feedback. Anything the business told us is labelled as reported.

  • Can a business pay to improve its profile?

A business can subscribe to manage its own listing details, and it can buy a labelled sponsored placement. Neither changes a ranking position or the editorial assessment on this page.
