We recently hired Stewart Roofing to replace our roof, and the entire experience was exceptional. I would especially like to recognize Kieran Stewart for his outstanding customer service. He was always responsive and promptly answered all of my questions, particularly during a period of stormy weather while the work was underway. His professionalism and commitment to customer satisfaction gave us great confidence throughout the project. I would also like to commend the roofing crew, led by foreman Ryan, for their professionalism, attention to detail, and quality workmanship. The team worked efficiently and took great care to keep the property clean and safe. They ensured that no debris or nails were left around the house and, upon completion, conducted a thorough magnetic sweep to confirm the area was completely clear. Overall, the workmanship, customer service, and attention to detail exceeded our expectations. I highly recommend Stewart Roofing and would gladly give them a 5/5 rating. Vish Barrhaven

I would highly recommend Stewart Roofing. We had Owens Corning Duration shingles installed in May 2025. With 1 full season passing, there has been no issues. The installation crew have been professional, and they had cleaned up the property daily. We are happy with the quality of the workmanship and with warranty that provides us with a peace of mind.

I have used Strewart roofing on our first two homes now and you simply can’t do better. From the reasonable quotes, to the on time and speedy completions (large teams get the roof done quickly and perfectly), and the exceptional after care, there is no one else I would trust our roof with. Thanks again to Kieran and co for always being A++!!

We used Stewart Roofing in 2024 for a repair of our flat roof, and again recently this year for a separate minor roof repair after a major storm caused a leak. Both times the service provided by Stewart Roofing was exemplary. They were responsive, thoughtful, methodical, and completed the work very quickly and for a reasonable price. The end result was excellent quality! Despite being very busy they make time for a proper assessment promptly. Stan and his team are fantastic and I can’t say enough good things about them! We will continue to use this company for our roofing needs and are lucky to have found them!

We had a roof leak and called Stewart Roofing to help. They showed up the next day, had a quote to us a day after that, and were there fixing the roof within a few days. For us, they checked all the boxes - quick to respond, a detailed quote, great price, great service and a great result! Thanks Stewart Roofing.

We had Stewart roofing replace our old roof that had been installed incorrectly by a prior homeowner and led to ice damming that drained into our home. We've now made it through winter and I can say the roof has held up beautifully and their recommendations led to no ice damming on our roof while everyone else on our street had it happen to them. Communication was great, workers polite and hard working, just an excellent group of people to deal with.

Company Background

About Stewart Roofing Ltd.

Stewart Roofing was founded by Stan Stewart, who started roofing at 15 under experienced mentors and now runs a family business that says it has more than 30 years of experience in Ottawa. The company works out of 15 Grenfell Crescent in Nepean and serves Barrhaven, Kanata, Nepean and Orleans, along with the rest of the city. Google lists its hours as Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, and closed on weekends.

The service list covers asphalt shingle roofing, flat roofing, metal roofing, new roof construction, roof repair, inspections, maintenance and attic insulation, for both houses and commercial buildings. The site also advertises a roof tune-up from 249.99 plus HST, which is a low-cost way to have a roofer look over an aging roof before it becomes a repair bill. Stewart Roofing says it employs more than 40 tradesmen.

On materials, the company lists Owens Corning Preferred Contractor status and CertainTeed Select ShingleMaster 5 Star certification. It states that it can offer manufacturer warranties on shingle and flat roofs, with transferable, non-prorated coverage for up to 50 years, and workmanship warranties on top. The company reports an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau and says HomeStars named it Eastern Ontario Contractor of the Year five times in six years. It describes itself as licensed and insured and publishes a free estimate form.

Customers rate it 4.8 from 116 Google reviews, read October 16, 2026. A recent Barrhaven reviewer praised Kieran Stewart for answering questions during stormy weather mid-job, and credited foreman Ryan's crew with a magnetic sweep for stray nails. Another reviewer noted Stewart Roofing was the only one of four bidders to climb onto the roof for the quote. The reviews we read were all five stars, so the fair caution comes from the website: it gives no founding year and no named staff beyond Stan Stewart, and some service pages repeat each other, so ask for specifics in writing.

Who it suits: Ottawa homeowners who want a branded shingle system with a long manufacturer warranty, and owners of flat or low-slope roofs who want one contractor for roofing and insulation. Who it suits less well: anyone who wants a named project manager before calling, or who needs a rock-bottom price on a small patch. Ontario has no provincial roofing licence, so before booking ask for a current WSIB clearance certificate, proof of liability insurance and a written contract that names the materials, the warranty and the start date.
