This fall we had a squirrel and perhaps a rat or mice attack one of our roof vents. The vent was installed by Rainbow roofing in 2009. We called Pest Control Center and they quickly came and ensured there were no vermin inside, and then they secured the site temporarily until it could be repaired properly by a roofer. That is where Rainbow Roofing came in. I called them the next day (it was raining). They kindly had one of their staff (Phillip) come over that day after his scheduled job was done (on his birthday too!). He removed the damaged vent and replaced it with a metal one. Once repaired, Phillip reviewed the other vents on our roof for evidence of damage by rodents (thankfully not) and he also inspected the roof itself. He identified several minor repairs that we will address as soon as possible. Overall I am extremely happy with the service provided by Rainbow Roofing and will use them for the needed repairs and when the roof needs replacing.

Quality work and good pricing. Did a large roof in 2018 and then some (unrelated) repairs recently. Always fast and reliable.

Rainbow Roofing is an excellent company. They installed a new roof on our home yesterday. They did an excellent job. The crew was skilled, efficient and very personable. Our property was left spotless when they finished and left the site. Our first contact with this company was with Hemant. He was very kind, knowledgeable about products and very accomodating. This is the 2nd roof we had done by this company. I highly recommend Rainbow Roofing.

Company Background

About Rainbow Roofing & Renovations

Rainbow Roofing & Renovations is based at 6206 Perth Street in Richmond, part of the City of Ottawa, and serves the west and south ends from Stittsville, Kanata and Barrhaven to Nepean, Carp and Carleton Place. Google shows 4.8 stars from 377 reviews, read October 20, 2026, the largest review base among the companies added to this list today.

The website says the company has over 38 years of experience, though it gives no founding year. It lists asphalt shingle roofs, roof repairs, seamless eavestrough with guards and filters, skylights, chimney caps, custom flashing, ventilation and rooftop snow removal. It says it is a certified installer and factory trained on Velux no-leak skylight products, uses Owens Corning, CertainTeed, GAF, IKO and Velux materials, and ties warranties of up to 50 years to that certified status. Financing and a free estimate are both offered, and the office is listed as open 7 AM to 7 PM every day.

Reviews describe a smooth install. A homeowner said the new roof went on in a day, the crew was skilled and efficient and the property was left spotless. Another named Hemant and Lynne as always available for questions. One customer who had a big roof done years ago noted that when a major storm hit Ottawa, their roof was undamaged. A wind-damage customer said Rainbow responded first of three companies and produced a clear estimate.

Consider the limits. The website names no owners or crew leaders, publishes no licence, insurance or WSIB numbers, and does not state emergency service. The Richmond address is on the rural edge of the city, so ask about scheduling if you are in the east end. The 50-year figure depends on the manufacturer system installed, so ask which warranty applies to your job.

Ontario does not issue a provincial roofing licence. Ask for a WSIB clearance certificate, proof of liability insurance and a written contract naming the shingle line and warranty before you pay a deposit.

Rainbow suits homeowners in the west end who want shingles, skylights and eavestroughs from one contractor with financing. It suits less well buyers who want a downtown shop or a published emergency line.
