- Megan Kerber5.0Submitted a service request and got a call 30min later to set up a time, same day. Our hot water was out and it turned out we needed a new one installed. Super friendly and knowledgeable crew. Happy with our experience.July 2025Google
- Lisa Houdek1.0These people are scammers!!! Don't use Aquarius, American, or Freedom (same company, but they have three different names and two different numbers for some reason...?!) Our air conditioner went on the fritz on June 3, during hot weather. Renato Carrasquedo with Aquarius a.k.a. American a.k.a. Freedom was quick to come out (June 5). He quoted us $1300 for a repair or $3500 for a new one. Minimum $80 service charge. We were a little suspicious, and luckily waited for a second opinion. Standard Heating and Air came out three days later and said it was a cut/chewed wire. Service guy Mike stripped the wires and used a wire-nut to reconnect them. Fixed in 30 minutes for $170.June 2023Google
- Jordan Millikan5.0One of the best contractor experiences I've ever had. I worked extensively with David and the Freedom crew in my aging Minneapolis home. It was a great experience and I will wholeheartedly recommend them to anyone. David evaluated our home and our needs and actually concluded that we needed LESS than I asked for! He emphasized the need for whole-home comfort and not just slapping in a high-efficiency furnace and calling it done. He coordinated with my insulation company to tackle the whole project. He spent a ton of time on the phone with me - well beyond what could be reasonably expected. He and his crew were extremely courteous, timely, and CLEAN. David ensured that our home was just as nice when they left - a true feat that I have never experienced with any company before Freedom. I felt no qualms about David and his crew working in the home with my wife and child when I wasn't present - my wife had great respect for the crew and was extremely impressed with how diligently they took care of our home. David and his teams showed up when they said they would and completed the work on (or ahead of) schedule. The system is working flawlessly and keeps our home comfortable, even in the bitter cold. I had 4 companies visit my home before choosing David and Freedom. Now I'll never have to go through that hassle again - I'll always pick Freedom. I recommend you do the same.February 2020Google

- Steve Messerli5.0Great service. The tech came on time and repaired my heat pump in a very timely manner. We were leaving town and I wanted or heating system working properly. I got a service contract with them because I was very impressed with them.Great job I am a very happy customer.Keep up the great work. Thanks again.January 2020Google
- Jessica2.0Too expensive of a diagnostic. Switched the filter and told us that was the source of the leaking, and it is not. The leaking is even worse than before. Waste of $89.January 2020Google

About Freedom Heating & Air Conditioning
Freedom Heating & Air Conditioning works from a Northeast Minneapolis location on Johnson Street, and its Google page currently averages 4.8 stars across 141 reviews, read September 23, 2026.
The service list covers gas and electric furnace repair, replacement, and installation, heat pumps, water heater and boiler service, radiant heat systems, and residential and commercial air conditioning repair, tune-ups, and replacement, along with maintenance plans and indoor air quality equipment such as humidifiers and air cleaners. The company doesn't publish a specific Minnesota mechanical license number, a Better Business Bureau rating, brands installed, or written warranty terms, and no individual owner is named.
Minneapolis winters put real strain on furnaces, and a company that answers the phone at 2 a.m. during a cold snap is worth more here than in milder climates. Reviewer Megan Kerber described getting a callback within 30 minutes after her water heater failed, with a technician on site the same day and the job done without a return visit. Jordan Millikan, another reviewer, singled out the crew for a strong experience working on an aging Minneapolis home, saying he'd wholeheartedly recommend Freedom Heating & Air Conditioning to a neighbor facing a similar repair.
Freedom states it's available 24/7 and on call around the clock, and offers free estimates, though its published storefront hours run Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., with weekends closed. Minnesota requires mechanical contractors to hold a state license through the Department of Labor and Industry, so it's worth asking any company on this list, Freedom included, to confirm their license number and standing before signing a contract, since that detail isn't always posted on a company website.
Service reaches Minneapolis, St. Paul, Plymouth, Eden Prairie, Woodbury, Bloomington, and the wider Twin Cities area.
Freedom Heating & Air Conditioning suits a homeowner who wants a genuinely round-the-clock on-call line alongside standard business hours, and who doesn't mind confirming licensing details by phone rather than online. It suits less well someone who wants a published licence number, financing terms, or brand information confirmed online before calling. Ask for the technician's Minnesota mechanical license number directly and current warranty terms before booking.
