Company Background

About SMS Contractors

SMS Contractors works from 30 Denton Avenue in Scarborough and covers the east end and the wider GTA. Its site splits the work into residential construction, commercial construction, renovation, restoration, repair services and project management, and it promises honest pricing and the same faces on site each day instead of subcontracting surprises. A free in-home consultation comes first, and the site points to financing for homeowners who want to renovate now and pay later.

The Google reviews show the range. Ahsan reached the company in a panic over a leak from a second-floor washroom and said a team came out right away despite the short notice. Minhaz wrote about a kitchen with new cabinets and countertops, new wall openings, pot lights, flooring and paint. Another homeowner described a visit by Moewayn to assess removing a wall and called him on time, friendly and helpful. Most of the visible reviews are short and date from late 2024 and early 2025, so they say more about responsiveness than about large structural projects.

SMS Contractors shows 5.0 from 65 Google reviews, read October 31, 2026. The company does not name its owners on its site, does not publish a licence or WSIB number and does not state a warranty length. Its Google listing says it is open 24 hours, which fits repair calls but is worth confirming for planned work.

It suits homeowners in Scarborough and the east end who want one crew for repairs and mid-size renovations. It suits less well anyone who needs a designer-led whole-house project or documented credentials up front. Before booking, ask for a written quote, the warranty in writing, proof of insurance, a WSIB clearance certificate and who handles the City of Toronto building permit. Ontario has no provincial renovation licence, so those checks are yours to run.

SMS Contractors FAQs

  • Is SMS Contractors licensed in Toronto?

SMS Contractors says on its site that it is licensed and insured but does not publish a licence number. Ontario has no provincial licence for renovation contractors, so ask for a WSIB clearance certificate, proof of liability insurance and the permit plan, and check permits with the City of Toronto.

  • Is SMS Contractors open 24 hours?

Google lists the Scarborough office at 30 Denton Avenue as open 24 hours every day, and one reviewer described a quick response to a washroom leak. The site does not advertise a dedicated emergency line, so confirm availability before relying on it for planned work.

  • Does SMS Contractors offer financing and free quotes?

Yes to both. The site offers a free in-home consultation with no obligation and mentions a renovate now, pay later financing option. It says it is based in Scarborough and serves the Greater Toronto Area. No warranty length is stated, so ask for one in writing.

  • Is SMS Contractors licensed and insured?

We checked 0 of 1 credentials against the issuing authority. Verified items carry the date we checked; reported items are what the business told us and we could not independently confirm.

  • What areas does SMS Contractors serve?

Toronto. Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. Confirm your address before scheduling, particularly at the edge of a service area.

  • Does SMS Contractors offer emergency service?

Emergency availability is not listed for this company. If you need an urgent call-out, check the ranking for companies that do list it.

  • What warranty do they offer?

Warranty terms are not on file. Ask for them in writing before work starts.

  • How was this profile built?

Credentials come from issuing authorities, ratings from the company's Google Business Profile with the date we read them, and the editorial take from our own review of estimates, warranty documents and public feedback. Anything the business told us is labelled as reported.

  • Can a business pay to improve its profile?

A business can subscribe to manage its own listing details, and it can buy a labelled sponsored placement. Neither changes a ranking position or the editorial assessment on this page.
