Editorial Review
Our Take on 1st Choice Plumbing, Air & Insulation
1st Choice earns its place on this list through the kind of hands-on ownership that is rare once a home services company passes a thousand reviews. An owner who personally responds to a Facebook post looking for a plumber is running a business on reputation, not volume, and the reviews back that up.
Best for: Combined plumbing and AC service from an owner-involved local company
What We Like
- 4.9 stars from more than 1,300 Google reviews
- NATE and Building Performance Institute certified technicians
- Trane Comfort Specialist status and Arizona Heat Pump Council membership
- Owner Tim is personally responsive, mentioned by name in multiple reviews
- Two-year parts warranty for customers on a service agreement
Things to Consider
- The site does not publish a specific Arizona Registrar of Contractors license number, only a general licensed, bonded and insured claim
- Closed on Sundays, unlike several competitors that run seven days a week
- The phone number on the company website differs from the one listed on its Google Business Profile; confirm which reaches dispatch fastest

About 1st Choice Plumbing, Air & Insulation
1st Choice Plumbing, Air & Insulation, based on North 17th Drive in North Phoenix, has built a 4.9 star average across more than 1,300 Google reviews with a level of owner involvement that stands out in the reviews. One customer described posting in a local Facebook group looking for a reliable plumber, only for owner Tim to personally see the post and reach out to help, arranging a same-day Saturday appointment.
The company's technicians carry NATE and Building Performance Institute certifications and Trane Comfort Specialist status, and 1st Choice is a member of the Arizona Heat Pump Council. Its own site describes the business as fully licensed, bonded and insured, though it does not publish a specific Arizona Registrar of Contractors license number the way several competitors on this list do.
Reviews mention technician Daniel twice, once for a thorough AC diagnosis with an honest, no-upsell quote, and again for beginning an active-leak repair the same day it was reported. Another reviewer credited technician Jeo with helping a landlord manage an emergency HVAC failure that hit on a Sunday during a busy World Cup weekend, when most other HVAC companies in the area were booked through Monday.
1st Choice runs 24 hours a day Monday through Saturday and is closed on Sundays, a schedule slightly different from the round-the-clock, seven-day availability some competitors advertise. Financing is available on approved credit, and customers who sign up for a service agreement receive a two-year parts warranty on covered repairs.
One detail worth noting: the phone number listed on the company's own website, 623-323-1021, differs from the number tied to its Google Business Profile, 623-292-3697. Both appear to reach the same business, but it is worth double-checking which number gets the fastest response when you call.
