- Drew Sarmiere1.0Biggest red flag? I sent multiple emails asking if the technicians who provide quotes are on commission and got vague responses until I finally asked for an absolute yes or no and was then told they cannot comment on that. So, I can only assume they are working on commission. FYI - ALL 3 other companies I'm getting quotes from quickly and clearly responded they DO NOT work on commission. That's shady business practices. Red flag 2? I was quoted $32,000 for heat pump HVAC replacement before rebate. Just got a second quote from a competitor for 20K before rebate. Also, after the rebate the heat pump quote from the competitor is still 6K LESS THAN the "standard system" quoted by this company (20k). If they respond to this they're likely going to say there's no way to know if the quality of the other company is the same or if the systems are the same, guarantees, etc. I've been doing plenty of research (and also talking experienced friends, one of whom has been in the HVAC business for decades) and I'm confident in in the comparison.
