Editorial Review

Our Take on Edge's Roofing Co

A long-running Hamilton family firm whose reviews keep naming the same estimators and crew members, which points to steady staffing. The one blemish we found was a delayed skylight install, and the customer still praised how it was communicated. Check insurance paperwork and written warranty terms, and plan around weekday-only hours.

My entire family has used Edges for decades. Long time, experienced staff. I had a number of concerns with my eaves troughs and water in basement. They were prompt and reasonable. Will have them shingle my workshop and two sheds next. Highly recommend.

On a day with a torrential rainstorm, I had a city drain blocked with a 2 foot geyser adjacent to the house foundation- a side effect of work done by an independent cleaner from the previous day and who unfortunately lacked trouble shooting skills or accountability to any degree. Lesson learned. Thankfully however, that was also the day I happened to speak with Diana from Edge's Roofing. Diana's calm and empathetic customer care- right off the bat, really was the difference that helped me get back to an effective mode of problem solving. She listened to details of my situation, then offered skilled and informed advice, This gave me confidence after my recent experience -and that is not an easy thing! Diana not only acted immediately, to de-escalated the crisis I was immersed in, but also offered structured next steps with clear options available to me. She then took prompt action, telling me that while they do normally only service roofing customers she would still reach out to her team. As a result, I had Carl, a supervisor for Edge's Roofing, at my home first thing- the very next day scrambling up a ladder, taking photos for me so I could see what the conditions of the gutter system was to help make informed decisions on options he offered. Carl gave me a few tiered options for which I was grateful for, it was truly tailored to my situation. Diana also informed and sent me links for City programs that I was not aware of- that is stellar customer care, and I was only a potential customer! Absolutely all of that registered in a meaningful way, especially with the backdrop of the ambiguous nature of services out there. I highly recommend Edge's Roofing as a source for a highly skilled team - in technical and customer care aspects. I had confidence as a customer and especially home owner in a crisis- which is the ultimate litmus test! Thanks Diana and Carl, you both have a rare combination of expert skill with true caring that is much needed for customers.

Dealing with Edge's Roofing was a pleasure! Even though installation of our skylight was delayed, the information was relayed by Diana. Carl, Tim and Andrew were very efficient at their work and answered our questions. We'd hire them again for another install! Ty Edge's roofing !

Company Background

About Edge's Roofing Co

Edge's Roofing Co sends homeowners to the BP Visualizer, a tool that lets you test shingle colours on a photo of your own house before anyone climbs a ladder. That small detail fits a firm that has been doing this a long time. Frank Edge founded the company in 1950, and the website describes it as Hamilton's oldest established roofing company, now in its third generation of family ownership. The shop is at 26 Nightingale St, Hamilton, ON L8L 1R6.

The work covers residential and commercial roofing, flat and low slope applications, inspections and repairs. The same crews also install skylights and roof vents and handle eavestroughs, soffit and fascia. The site names BP shingles for its colour guide, and the company says it works with insurance adjusters and with municipal social service programs. The service area on its site is Hamilton, Dundas, Ancaster and Stoney Creek, plus Burlington.

Reviews give a clear picture of how a job runs. One homeowner wrote about estimator Carl coming out to quote, Tim doing a roof tune-up, Diana keeping them informed, and a crew of Andrew, Danny and Jeff protecting the gardens with tarps and plywood and cleaning up each day. Another reviewer had a flat roof over a house extension resurfaced and said there were no surprises. A skylight customer said the installation was delayed, though Diana passed the news along and the crew was efficient once they arrived. Reviews in September 2026 also mention a vent boot fix and a soffit and drain pipe installation. Edge's Roofing Co holds 5.0 from 52 Google reviews, read October 13, 2026.

Edge's Roofing Co suits homeowners who want an established local firm for a shingle replacement, a repair, a skylight, a flat roof over an addition, or a small outbuilding. It suits less well anyone who needs weekend or after-hours contact, since the office is open weekdays 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, or anyone who wants specific manufacturer credentials, because the site does not list any. Before booking, ask for the WSIB clearance certificate, which you can verify on the WSIB site, and proof of liability insurance. Ontario does not license roofers provincially, so the site's "licensed and insured" line is worth backing with paperwork. Ask for the warranty terms in writing, since the site does not state them.
