Fantastic work- really impressed with Matthew, Todd and the install team for our floors. The team was very efficient, organized, and friendly and Matthew ensured everything ran smoothly. Also really appreciate Matthew working with the electrician Ash, who also did amazing work. Todd created a custom step for a tricky staircase landing that looks great. Everyone was a top level professional and excellent at what they do. Would highly recommend Metro hardwood!

Company Background

About Metro Hardwood Floors Ltd

Metro Hardwood Floors Ltd is a family-owned flooring company at 6031 Centre Street South in Calgary. Its site says the business has served customers since 2001 and covers hardwood, vinyl plank, laminate, carpet, tile, installation, sanding and refinishing, with homeowners, designers and contractors all on the customer list.

The company says every installation is overseen by a dedicated project manager, and its installation page explains the practical choices that shape a quote, including nail or staple fastening for hardwood and the difference between sanding and full refinishing. Hours are 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday, closed Sunday. The sales address is sales@metrohardwoodfloors.com.

Reviews give the clearest picture. Mike Lycka is named repeatedly for walking customers through products, bringing samples, measuring at the home and writing detailed quotes for luxury vinyl plank and carpet. One reviewer compared several quotes and chose Metro for price and clarity. Nate and his crew are praised for punctual installation of herringbone hardwood in bedrooms. A carpet customer says the installers finished the job in one day. 4.9 from 210 Google reviews, read November 1, 2026.

It suits homeowners who want one company for design advice, supply and installation across several floor types, and who value a named person guiding the job. It suits less well anyone who needs Sunday service. Before booking, ask for a written quote that lists material, labour, removal and underlayment, ask who will be on the install crew, and confirm the company's City of Calgary business licence. Alberta does not license flooring installers as a trade.
