Editorial Review
Our Take on Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Columbus
A 4.8 average across more than four thousand Google reviews is a strong signal at this scale, and genuine 24-hour coverage plus in-house camera and lining equipment gives this branch reach that most independent Columbus plumbers cannot match. The usual franchise caveats apply: get the price in writing before the work starts and ask what changes after hours. For emergencies and sewer diagnostics, it is a reasonable first call.

- Diane Muldrew5.0I had a plumbing issue in my kitchen today. Called Mr. Rooter I had someone at my house within the hour. He explained to me what was wrong , showed me And had it fixed in no time. I wasn’t expecting the price, However, the job has been done wrong before So it was nice to know that I had it done correctly this time. I Will be using them again. - Susan Lear5.0Wow, did I get lucky when Ralph came to my door! I had disastrously clogged my kitchen sink. In addition to the current stoppage he discovered that over time the pipe was further clogged with accumulated gunk. He cleared and replaced the long run of pipe and taught me how to regularly clear the drain in the future. He also taught me how to better use my disposal. Ralph is a real pro the best plumber I’ve ever had.September 2026Google
- Dan Hearl1.0As a person in the service industry I am disappointed by the lack of professionalism and care taken by Mr. Rooter. From the beginning they rescheduled the appointment to another day then no-showed on the 2nd day. On the 3rd attempt they showed up but didn't complete the request on the work order. We have downspouts that are clogged and not draining. I had asked to inspect the downspouts around the house but the tech seemed confident he had isolated the drainage issue to roots in one section pipe. I paid nearly $1000 to have roots removed from one section and the tech assured me this would solve our issue. Wrong. Fast forward almost 2 months later I wake up to water pouring in our basement. The downspouts overflowing and windows wells retaining water to the point that the water is entering the house into our fully finished basement. A tech was sent out who, this time, did a thorough job inspecting all downspouts and discovered a potentially crushed pipe. This tech was very apologetic and professional. He recommended hand digging and replacing a 10-15 ft section of pipe at a cost of $5-7k. He was able to reduce the cost some but it didn't sit well with me that I had already spent $1000 for the original tech to misdiagnose our issues. I asked for a refund of the oroginal 1k but was told I would need to speak with management. BBB complaint next. I want to point out, the 2nd tech did his job and was put into an impossible situation by the first tech. Use Mr Rooter at your own risk!!September 2026Google

Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. A company will often travel beyond the areas listed here for a large job and decline a small one at the same distance, so confirm your address before scheduling.
About Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Columbus
Blacklick is a sensible base for a plumbing outfit serving Columbus. From Brice Road you are close to I-70 and the outerbelt, which matters when a call comes in from Reynoldsburg at seven in the morning and from Grandview Heights at nine. That geography, combined with hours published as open 24 hours every day of the week, is the practical case for mr rooter plumbing of columbus: it is set up to answer the phone at times when smaller shops have gone home.
The work splits roughly into three groups. First, drains and sewers, which is where the Mr. Rooter brand began. That covers snaking kitchen and basement drains, sewer camera inspection to find out why a line keeps backing up, hydro jetting to scour grease and scale from pipe walls, and then the repair side: spot repairs, trenchless sewer line replacement and cured-in-place pipe lining where digging up a driveway or a mature front yard is the worse option. Second, everyday fixtures and appliances, meaning toilets, faucets, sinks, garbage disposals, sump pumps, water heaters both tank and tankless, water softeners and whole-house filters. Third, the bigger structural jobs: repiping, gas line repair and replacement, septic systems and drain fields, well pumps, and bathroom remodelling. Commercial customers get much the same list plus grease trap installation and servicing, which is the sort of thing restaurants along Bethel Road or in the Short North need on a schedule rather than in a crisis.
Columbus housing makes the sewer side busy. Neighbourhoods like Clintonville, Olde Towne East and the German Village fringes still have clay laterals with joints that tree roots find, and a camera inspection is the difference between paying for a snaking every autumn and knowing you have a cracked section thirty feet out. In the newer rings, Hilliard, Westerville, Pickerington, the pipes are plastic and the calls are more often about water heaters, sump pumps and basement drains after heavy rain. Freeze-thaw swings in January bring burst pipes in crawl spaces and unheated garages, and hard central Ohio water shortens the life of tank heaters, which is why softener and anode conversations come up often.
On how it works day to day, the company describes flat quoting before the job starts and technicians who arrive in stocked vans, and it promotes financing and periodic offers on its site. Those are the company's own claims, so treat them as such and confirm the specifics on the call. The 4.8 rating from 4,174 reviews on the Google Business Profile, read on September 4, 2026, is unusually high for a volume operation, and volume is the point here. A franchise this size dispatches many technicians, so the person who arrives may not be the person a neighbour praised. Ask who is coming and how long they have been with the branch.
Other questions worth asking before you commit. Is the quote a fixed price for the whole job or a diagnostic fee that gets credited? What does an after-hours or holiday call-out cost compared with a Tuesday morning appointment? For sewer and gas line work, who pulls the permit with the City of Columbus or the relevant township, and is inspection included in the price? For a water heater swap, does the quote include bringing the venting, expansion tank and shut-off up to current code, because that is where a cheap number becomes an expensive one. And on any warranty, ask what is covered on parts, what is covered on labour, and whether it transfers if you sell the house.
Compared with the alternatives in this market, mr rooter plumbing of columbus sits in the same band as the other large branded companies here: broader hours, more trucks, more paperwork, and pricing that is generally above what a two-person independent quotes for a straightforward repair. What you get for that is availability and specialist equipment, jetters and camera reels and lining gear that an independent may not own. If your job is a leaking hose bibb on a Saturday you will probably pay a premium. If it is a collapsed lateral, a whole-house repipe or a backup at midnight, the trade-off looks better. Landlords and small commercial sites tend to value the single point of contact more than homeowners doing one job every few years.

Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Columbus FAQs
Is Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Columbus really open 24 hours?
Its published hours list open 24 hours, Monday through Sunday. That means the line is staffed for emergencies overnight and at weekends. Expect after-hours rates to differ from a standard weekday appointment, so ask what the call-out charge is when you book.
What areas around Columbus does the branch cover?
It works from 405 Brice Rd N in Blacklick and serves the Columbus metro. The location gives easy access to I-70 and the outerbelt, so the east and northeast suburbs such as Reynoldsburg, Pickerington, Gahanna and Westerville are close, with the wider city reachable from there. Confirm your postcode on the call.
How good are the reviews?
Its Google Business Profile showed 4.8 from 4,174 reviews when read on September 4, 2026. That is a large sample for a single branch, which makes the average more meaningful than a score built on a few dozen ratings.
Do they do trenchless sewer repair?
Yes, the service list includes trenchless sewer line repair and cured-in-place pipe lining, alongside camera inspection and hydro jetting. That combination matters in older Columbus neighbourhoods with clay laterals under mature trees, where digging means losing a driveway or a front lawn.
Will I get a price before the work starts?
The company says it quotes pricing up front and mentions financing options on its site. Those are its own claims, so get the figure in writing and clarify whether it is a fixed price for the whole job or a diagnostic fee that is credited if you proceed.
Do they handle commercial plumbing as well as homes?
Yes. The commercial list mirrors the residential one and adds grease trap installation and servicing, which suits restaurants and food businesses. Septic systems, well pumps and gas lines are also listed for both sides of the business.
Who pulls the permit for sewer or gas line work?
Ask directly when you get the quote. Sewer replacement and gas line work in Columbus generally need a permit and an inspection, and you want it clear in writing that the contractor is handling both and that the cost is inside the quoted price.
Is Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Columbus licensed and insured?
We have no credential records on file for this company yet. Ask for the certificate directly from the insurer before booking work.
What areas does Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Columbus serve?
Columbus, Canal Winchester, Blacklick. Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. Confirm your address before scheduling, particularly at the edge of a service area.
Does Mr. Rooter Plumbing of Columbus offer emergency service?
Yes, the company lists emergency availability. Response time depends on demand, and after a storm every company in the market is stretched.
What warranty do they offer?
Warranty terms are not on file. Ask for them in writing before work starts.
How was this profile built?
Credentials come from issuing authorities, ratings from the company's Google Business Profile with the date we read them, and the editorial take from our own review of estimates, warranty documents and public feedback. Anything the business told us is labelled as reported.
