- Rob5.0Again a professional job done well. This time it was a large, multi-day project and not only was it managed and conducted very well, but the excellent communication and consideration shown was very appreciated.September 2026Google
- Danny Cabral5.0Absolutely the best experience I’ve ever had with a hot water tank replacement. They answered my call on a weekend when our hot water died, gave me a quote over the phone that was $500 lower than the next closest which included all permits and everything… Final price was as advertised. You will benefit with the best prices in town from their massive buying power now that they’ve partnered with the National company Enercare, and their service is exceptional. Rob Godfrey in their office was an absolute gem to deal with, keeping every promise and expediting my service call to be onsite first thing on the Monday with Technician Curtis, who was super friendly and did a top-notch install, answering my myriad of questions with patience and expertise. I’m a meticulous trade Technician as well and know a good professional when I see one. I will be strongly recommending pioneer plumbing to all my friends and family.September 2026Google

About Pioneer Plumbing & Heating Inc
Pioneer Plumbing & Heating was founded in 1976 and still works from its storefront on Kingsway in Mount Pleasant. It has 1,402 Google reviews at a 4.7 average as of September 24, 2026, which puts it second on this list for review volume.
Pioneer is a plumbing, heating and cooling company. On the heating side it repairs furnaces and boilers, installs heat pumps, and services radiant tube heating for commercial buildings, working with brands such as IBC, Navien, NTI, Triangle Tube and Viessmann. It also services air conditioning, including commercial units. The rest of the work is plumbing: leaks, burst pipes, repipes, water heaters, drains, sewer lines and trenchless water lines.
This is the only company on the list that prints its gas licensing online. The website gives two Technical Safety BC gas contractor licence numbers, LGA0001939 and LGA0208034, and says its staff are licensed journeyman plumbers and certified gas fitters. It says it has more than 25 stocked service vehicles across the Lower Mainland, offers 24/7 emergency service and promises that a real person answers the phone. It serves homeowners, landlords, strata councils and commercial clients, and it advertises same-day service and a satisfaction guarantee.
Reviews are mostly for plumbing but point to good organization. A customer said Linda in the office handled extra documentation their strata asked for after a hot water tank replacement. A salon owner said a technician named Jack cleared a clog in a leaking AC unit and checked the rooftop unit at no charge. Garrett and Morgan are named for tidy, thorough work, and a renovation client said Pioneer coordinated well with other contractors.
Office hours are 9 AM to 5 PM on weekdays. Pioneer suits Vancouver homeowners, landlords and stratas who want an established, licensed gas contractor for furnaces, boilers and water heaters. For a heat pump install, ask how many it has done and for model numbers on the quote.
