Editorial Review
Our Take on Rome Flooring LTD
One of the oldest flooring names in the city, strong on hardwood and refinishing. The one serious complaint in recent years was about follow-up, so ask how fixes are handled.

Company Background
About Rome Flooring LTD
Rome Flooring says it was founded in 1969, which makes it one of the longest-running flooring companies in Ottawa. The website describes a family-owned and family-run business led by president and owner Joe Cama, with project manager Mark carrying on the family legacy, and it states that Rome employs and trains its own installers so customers know who is working in their home.
The shop is on Antares Drive in Nepean, and the services pages cover hardwood installation, floor refinishing and restaining, bathroom and floor tile, and stair and railing work for homes and businesses around Barrhaven, Centrepointe and the rest of Ottawa. Rome lists a workmanship warranty on all installations, flexible financing, and appointments that include evenings and weekends. The site also notes that Joe Cama received an Ottawa Centre Canadian Leadership Award in 1999 for his contribution to the community.
Reviewers write mostly about Joe and the crew. One returning customer said Rome refinished their hardwood years ago and was the only company they wanted to call when it came time to update floors and a railing. A 2021 reviewer was pleased with how stain matched across rooms where carpet had been removed. The fair negative is a 2024 one-star review from a customer whose parents' refinished floors did not meet their expectations, with the reviewer saying calls about a fix went unanswered. Rome has 4.7 stars from 61 Google reviews, read November 1, 2026.
Rome suits homeowners with older hardwood who want a long-established local firm, and condo or townhouse owners who want one company for floors and stairs. It suits less well shoppers who want a large walk-in selection of vinyl and carpet. Before booking, ask for a written quote, ask how the company handles a finish you are unhappy with, and ask for the warranty terms in writing.
