Plumbing in Minneapolis is shaped by the winter. Frost line depth in the metro runs around five feet, service lines run under alleys and boulevards, and a stretch of subzero nights will find every uninsulated run in a rim joist or crawl space. That is the backdrop for what skyview plumbing llc does: emergency plumbing and burst pipe response, water heater repair and installation, drain cleaning and sewer line repair, leak detection and pipe repair, faucet, toilet and fixture work, and gas line services, offered across the Twin Cities metro.

The headline operating detail is the schedule. The company states it is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, including holidays, for both emergencies and ordinary appointments. That matters more here than in milder climates. A pipe that splits at two in the morning in February will do considerable damage before a next-day appointment arrives, and having someone who will pick up the phone is often worth more than shaving a few dollars off the hourly rate. Ask what the after-hours rate actually is, and whether it is a flat call-out fee or a premium applied to the whole job.

Who it fits: homeowners in Minneapolis and the inner-ring suburbs dealing with a specific problem. A water heater that has stopped producing hot water, a floor drain backing up, a slow leak staining a basement ceiling, a toilet that will not stop running. Those are the jobs the published service list is built around. The site also refers to commercial plumbing, but the evidence available leans residential, so a property manager with a multi-building portfolio should ask directly about crew size and capacity before assuming it is the right fit.

The review record is worth reading carefully. A 5.0 average from 76 reviews on the Google Business Profile, read on September 27, 2026, is unusual. Perfect averages tend to come from smaller operations where the owner is on most jobs and unhappy customers get sorted out before they reach a keyboard. That is generally a good sign for workmanship and communication. It also means the sample is smaller than what you would see from a large franchise with thousands of reviews, so read a handful of them to check that people are describing the kind of work you need rather than only faucet installs.

Minneapolis housing stock complicates plumbing in ways worth raising on the first call. A large share of the city was built before 1940, which means galvanised supply lines that have narrowed to a trickle, cast iron drain stacks with cracked hubs, and clay sewer laterals that tree roots find every few years. If your water pressure has dropped house-wide, the question is whether you are looking at a partial repipe in PEX or copper rather than another patch. If the basement floor drain backs up more than once a year, the useful step is a camera inspection of the lateral out to the main, not another cabling. Ask whether camera work is offered and what it costs on its own.

Permits and inspections are the other local piece. Minneapolis requires permits for a range of plumbing work, water heater replacements and gas line alterations among them, and the permit is normally pulled by the licensed contractor. Confirm that the company is handling it and that the work will be inspected. Minnesota licenses plumbing contractors at the state level, so it is reasonable to ask for a licence number and a certificate of insurance before work begins. The brief does not list either, so verify them yourself rather than assuming.

Compared with the alternatives in this market, skyview plumbing llc sits between the large branded outfits with fleet trucks and flat-rate books, and the one-van independent who may not answer at night. You get the round-the-clock coverage of the former with the smaller-shop review pattern of the latter. Whichever way you go, get the diagnosis and the price in writing before anyone starts cutting, and on a water heater ask about the warranty terms, the venting configuration and whether an expansion tank or a code-required upgrade is folded into the quote.
