Company Background
About Alberta Lock Solid
Alberta Lock Solid is the locksmith to know if you live or work in south Edmonton. The shop sits at 9816 51 Avenue NW, a short drive from 99 Street, and has a staffed counter, a product showroom and key cutting on site. The company says it opened in 1999, which puts it among the longer-running locksmith operations in the city, and its Google profile shows 4.7 from 259 Google reviews, read 2026-10-28.
On the home side, the shop lists lockout service, lock repair and replacement, rekeying, deadbolts, window and door grilles, keyless entry systems, video entry systems and safes. Commercial work includes rekeying, access control, master key systems, keyless fobs and cards, and door and frame replacement, and the company's photos include school entry door upgrades. A mobile dispatch line takes emergency calls at any hour, and the company says its vans use GPS tracking to shorten response times.
Reviewers mention Vlad most often, praising quick key and fob work and fair prices compared with dealerships. Steve handled an attempted break-in repair for one homeowner who called him friendly and prompt. That same customer also noted the replacement lock was old and uncommon, took a while to source and cost more than expected, which is a fair reminder that unusual hardware slows any job. Many of the reviews we read concern car keys and fobs, so the evidence for home and commercial work is thinner than for automotive work.
The website states that technicians carry the Alberta locksmith licence card, wear uniforms with the company logo and drive marked vehicles. It also lists a one-year warranty on parts and labour. The company website lists shop hours as Monday to Friday 8:00 to 5:00, while Google shows 8:00 to 4:30, so call before driving over.
Alberta Lock Solid suits homeowners and small businesses who want a physical shop with a long track record and a dispatch line that never closes. It suits people who live far from south Edmonton somewhat less well, since the shop and showroom are on 51 Avenue. Before booking, ask for a firm quote or service-call fee up front, ask the technician to show photo ID and arrive in a marked vehicle, confirm whether a lockout will be opened without drilling, ask what the one-year warranty covers on parts and labour, and check the paperwork. Alberta does not issue one provincial locksmith licence to every operator, so ask for the City of Edmonton business licence, proof of insurance, a firm quote and photo ID.

Is Alberta Lock Solid licensed and insured?
We checked 0 of 2 credentials against the issuing authority. Verified items carry the date we checked; reported items are what the business told us and we could not independently confirm.
What areas does Alberta Lock Solid serve?
Edmonton. Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. Confirm your address before scheduling, particularly at the edge of a service area.
Does Alberta Lock Solid offer emergency service?
Yes, the company lists emergency availability. Response time depends on demand, and after a storm every company in the market is stretched.
What warranty do they offer?
1-year warranty on parts and labour. There are usually two warranties on a job: the manufacturer covers materials, the contractor covers workmanship. Get both in writing and check whether the workmanship coverage transfers if you sell.
