We have had Avenue Road Roofing and Avenue Road Masonry complete different projects on the exterior of our home. For each of these projects, the crew at Avenue Road were upmost professions. Throughout each step, from initial consultation, to scheduling, to the day the work got done, we knew exactly what to expect. After completion of the projects, Avenue Road followed up and answered any questions we had. The work quality is fantastic! We highly recommend!

Having run afoul of a roofer-scam, barely getting away from them, I suddenly realized I had no clue what damage the scammers had done, and that the pending weather was not good. The receptionist was calm and asked for the entire story, explaining that most of my story had seen a recent increase from many other clients, and she would try to have someone reach out to me within the hour. It was closer to 25 minutes, and that he wanted to take a look before saying anything much. Within an hour, he had seen enough, and could have someone start immediately, with an estimate (all broken down, including a potential variable) that was much more polite than the scammers had been headed towards. I arrived home from work that night, only to find nothing. Nothing at all!! …including the scammer’s blue tarp that had been nailed incorrectly to my roof. Between my initial call at lunch, and nearly 6pm, Avenue Roofing had come to look, provide an estimate (which matched the final invoice perfectly), dispatch a team to complete the necessary repairs, and left, leaving zero trace of their having been there. Since these repairs were directly over the head of my bed, and given the massive rainfall that happened that night, I was extremely pleased to wake up the next morning, completely dry and not in a DIY ‘waterbed’. Thank you again to everyone at Avenue Roofing!!

I had an excellent experience from the initial telephone call to meeting Matt for an assessment. He advised that instead of having to replace the entire roof (told by an another company) - I only needed the chimney flashing to be replaced. He also came inside to see where the infrequent leak was and confirmed that it was the chimney and why. The photos he took with his drone were clear. Then when it came time to book the work the two men arrived and for 3 hours did more than planned as my neighbours damper/exhaust was within the area they were repairing so they got it resealed too! Professional. Great work. Peace of mind. Definitely recommend and will call when we do indeed require the roof to be replaced.

Company Background

About Avenue Road Roofing

Avenue Road Roofing has worked out of 45 Wingold Avenue in North York since 1974, which makes it one of the longest-running roofing firms in the Toronto area. The company says it has served more than 50,000 clients across industrial, commercial, institutional and residential work. Its site lists shingle, cedar, slate and flat roofing, copper and sheet metal, skylights, eavestrough, soffit and fascia, siding, carpentry and masonry. Roofing is still the core of it, from commercial single ply, modified bitumen and built up systems to houses in areas such as Forest Hill, Rosedale, Etobicoke, the Kingsway, Lawrence Park, Bloor West Village, High Park and Hoggs Hollow.

The company states that it is a certified installer for CertainTeed, IKO and Velux, that crews receive manufacturer training and annual re-certification, and that staff are covered by WSIB with liability insurance. It also says it runs criminal background checks on staff. These are the company's own statements and are listed here as reported.

Reviews fill in the day-to-day picture. Avenue Road Roofing has 4.5 from 363 Google reviews, read October 16, 2026. Customers describe a clear timeline and cost from Doug and Fergus on a commercial building replacement, detailed site reports from Aron during a winter emergency repair, and an inspection by Joe and Kaz that ended with advice to wait a few more years and no bill. Another owner thanked Phil, Robert and Alex for a bathroom vent job finished ahead of schedule. One reviewer of a full replacement mentioned a few hiccups along the way, though the crew sorted them out quickly. A chimney flashing customer got a visit within three days but waited about ten days for the repair crew.

Avenue Road Roofing suits owners of older Toronto houses, churches and flat-roof buildings who want a long-established firm with metal and masonry work under one roof. It suits less well anyone chasing the lowest price on a small job or a same-day repair, since the site says most projects are scheduled two to four weeks after approval. Ontario has no provincial roofing licence, so ask for the WSIB clearance certificate and proof of liability insurance before booking. Ontario homeowners can check WSIB clearance online. Also ask for the warranty in writing and confirm who will lead the crew on your roof.

Avenue Road Roofing FAQs

  • Is Avenue Road Roofing licensed and insured in Toronto?

Avenue Road Roofing states on its website that it is licensed, carries liability insurance and that its staff are covered by WSIB. Ontario has no provincial roofing licence, so there is no state-style licence lookup. Homeowners can check a contractor's WSIB clearance online through WSIB and should ask for written proof of liability insurance before signing. The company also says it is a certified installer for CertainTeed, IKO and Velux, and that crews receive manufacturer training and annual re-certification. These details are reported by the company and were not independently verified. Ask for the clearance certificate and insurance certificate by name when you request your free estimate.

  • What are Avenue Road Roofing's hours, and how fast can they start a job?

The company's website says most projects are scheduled two to four weeks after approval, depending on season, weather and scope. It does not advertise 24 hour emergency service, although it lists winter roof leak and ice damming work and reviewers describe quick emergency repairs. For an urgent leak, call and ask what the earliest visit would be.

  • Does Avenue Road Roofing offer a warranty, free estimates and payment options?

Yes to free estimates and payment options, and the company says its warranties are dependable and transferable. Its website offers free estimates through an online quote form or by phone, and says inspectors provide photos, written assessments and recommendations before work begins. A Payment Options page offers pre-approval, though the terms are not listed. Warranty length and coverage are not published online, so ask for the warranty in writing before you sign. The company serves the Greater Toronto Area, with Toronto neighbourhoods such as Forest Hill, Rosedale, Etobicoke, the Kingsway and Lawrence Park named on its site.

  • How was this profile built?

Credentials come from issuing authorities, ratings from the company's Google Business Profile with the date we read them, and the editorial take from our own review of estimates, warranty documents and public feedback. Anything the business told us is labelled as reported.
