Our Take on Roofing Monkeys

Roofing Monkeys earns its place on reviews that praise communication and a final walk through, plus a customer who came back four times. The thin website and missing warranty terms mean you should get everything in writing, but the pattern of feedback is steady and the shop is on a real Toronto street.

Roofing Monkeys repaired the flashing around my chimney in July. They came again in mid October to replace the fascia and add a drip edge. They responded to my calls and emails; the price was comparable. They were also honest about the work that needed to be done, which is important when there are so many “roofers” willing to scam homeowners. The space between my house and my neighbour’s is really tight, but the roofers worked hard over a a few days to do the work properly. I really appreciate the work they did. I would recommend them.

We have had nothing but problems with the new roof this company out on our house. Ice damn leaking in the winter and now rain leaking through both flat roofs and the work was done one year ago. Don't waste money with this company.

We needed our eves replaced and gutter guards added. They were referred to us by a family member who was very pleased with the work they did on his property. From the outset everything thing was excellent. We were very satisfied with the work and they were prompt, courteous and very efficient . We highly recommend them!

I was able to get the roofers in to do the work pretty quickly. They had to come back a couple days here and there because the weather was not great on some of the scheduled days. They were able to work quickly and efficiently. They communicated through text with me which was helpful tracking all of the progress. It was good that they were able to use a drone to be able to see the top of my roof and the extent of the damage. Thank you

Had water coming into the sunroom during heavy rain, called Roofing Monkeys yesterday to arrange next day for a free inspection / estimate. Chris from Roofing Monkeys came by on time and identified the likely issue (slash in the shingle) and patched it up on the spot. Great friendly and professional, I will use this business in the future and recommend.

Company Background

About Roofing Monkeys

Roofing Monkeys runs out of 1224 Dupont Street in west Toronto. Its website lists flat roofs, shingles, metal roofs, TPO, cedar roofs and synthetic slate, plus eavestroughs, downspouts, soffit and fascia, and drone roof inspections. It serves the Greater Toronto Area and has a separate estimate page for Hamilton. The site shows IKO Select and WSIB badges and a HomeStars Verified mark, and it offers free roof estimates.

The reviews read like a company people come back to. Sidravi wrote that this was the fourth job the company had done for them and that the new flat roof was done to a high standard. Stephannie said she got a crew in quickly and that they kept in touch by text, even when bad weather meant a few return visits. Kathy hired the crew for new eavestroughs and gutter guards on a family referral and called them prompt and courteous. Peter praised the transparency, from the first inspection to the final walk through, where every step was explained. One customer left a low rating over a flyer in a no junk mail slot and raised it to three stars after the owner replied, which is a small sign that complaints get an answer. Google shows 4.9 from 149 reviews, read October 20, 2026.

The website does not state how long the company has operated, who owns it or what its warranties cover, and it is built on a website builder with keyword-heavy page addresses. The company says repair prices depend on the job and the distance from its shop.

This suits Toronto homeowners with flat roofs, older shingle roofs or eavestrough work who want regular updates. It suits less well anyone looking for a long-established name with published manufacturer programs. Before hiring, ask for the WSIB clearance certificate, proof of liability insurance, the written warranty on workmanship and materials, and a fixed price for the scope. Ontario has no provincial roofing licence, so those papers are the check.
