Once done fixing the issue at hand he took his time to go through all aspects of my air conditioning unit as well as my hvac and furnace. About Efficiency Heating & Cooling
Efficiency Heating & Cooling started in Saskatoon in 1985 and is still locally owned, now by Tim Hofer and Derek Hautz. The company works from Millar Avenue in the north industrial area and has 4.9 stars from 254 Google reviews as of September 23, 2026. Its website introduces the wider crew by name, including Dylan, Carter, Kyle, Jason, Richard, Dave, Aidan and Dustin.
The company features Amana furnaces and air conditioners but says it services all major brands and models, which helps if you have an older or less common system. It is a SaskEnergy Network member, offers 24/7 emergency service, and takes financing applications through its website. Service reaches Warman, Martensville and Dalmeny as well as Saskatoon itself.
Reviewers describe careful technicians. One said Dustin found the fault right away and then went through the whole AC, HVAC and furnace setup to explain maintenance. Another said Derek did a site survey before installing a tankless water heater to make sure it would work. A repeat customer said they like dealing with a locally owned company that shows up on time and prices competitively, and another was surprised to learn the company also does plumbing when Jon fixed a water meter leak quickly.
The company lists a real email on its own domain, info@efficiencyheating.com, which makes it easy to get quotes in writing. It does not publish warranty terms or a gas contractor licence number on the website, so ask for both and confirm the licence with the Technical Safety Authority of Saskatchewan.
Efficiency suits homeowners who want a long-standing, locally owned shop that will work on whatever equipment is already installed. It suits less well anyone who wants a wide choice of new equipment brands, since installs lean toward Amana. Before booking, ask about after-hours rates and the labour warranty on repairs.
