Our Take on Francis Plumbing Heating & Cooling
The name is not a coincidence with Francis Home Environment elsewhere on this list; the two operate as separate companies with different addresses and websites, and Francis Plumbing's distinct value is its licensed plumbing crew working alongside its HVAC technicians on the same jobs.
Best for: Homeowners who want HVAC and plumbing handled by the same licensed contractor

- Jacob Mulder5.0Very efficient service from this company! I had to call them on a Saturday for after hours emergency service involving my hot water tank. I live in rural Ottawa and the technician arrived in under 2 hours to stabilize the problem. This was followed up by prompt service on the following Monday to install the new hot water tank. Everyone I dealt with was very friendly and professional and they left the job site neat and tidy. I was very happy with the experience.September 2026Google
- Lisa DuBroy5.0Fast and efficient. Ian and Blair were knowledgeable and explained all the parts of service.September 2026Google
- Natalie Creith5.0The representative was punctual, polite, professional and efficient. I am and have been a satisfied customer for a number of years. I highly recommendSeptember 2026Google
- Robert Poirier1.0Francis plumbing ripped me off for $470! I had two guys show up when it was just my wife at home. They said they required a special part and had to go acquire it. When they came back they replaced the same part I replaced the evening before for $27 at Home Depot. They left the situation in the exact same way they found it and charged me $470. I have been trying to get some sort of resolution done to no avail. I’ve had a coupe sympathetic discussions with a guy name Kirby however, he has not called me back after our initial conversations. Apparently, he’s waiting on executive approval to give me my money back.September 2026Google
- Dan Anskaitis5.0The team at Francis are very knowledgeable and a pleasure to deal with.September 2026Google
- J Li3.0I contemplated for quite a while before posting this review... We contacted Francis for installing a heat pump and our initial encounter with Angelo the comfort advisor was great. He was very knowledgeable and even troubleshooted an unrelated temperature concern in our basement. Then comes the install - the technicians spent > 9 hours on the job and we were told there were "complications". One technician fell and damaged part of our ceiling drywall. They also did not set the wiring properly and the heat pump was running constantly 24 hours a day. In addition, to our surprise a few days later, we discovered a large pool of water surrounding our furnace and realized the condensation drain line was not attached to any drain (!!). They have since been very responsive in addressing these concerns and fixing our technical issues. However, they did not provide a reasonable solution or compensation for the accidental drywall damage, which in my opinion, was an avoidable part of the installation. They offered to install these white panel covers which just looks awful (see photos). I haven't heard from them regarding the drywall damage since...August 2026Google

About Francis Plumbing Heating & Cooling
Francis Plumbing Heating & Cooling runs from a Boyd Avenue base and has built its 4.8-star average, across 1,521 Google reviews, on a combined plumbing and HVAC offering rather than specializing in one trade. The company's site notes licensed plumbers and HVAC technicians on staff, along with home renovation work that touches both trades. That combination is genuinely useful when a heating problem turns out to be tied to a plumbing issue, such as a leaking boiler or hot water system, since one company can handle the full job. The company offers 24-hour dispatch for emergency calls across the Ottawa area.
