Hands down a great contractor experience!!! We had our main and ensuite bathrooms redone, and they are completely transformed! So nice! Love their business model, the project planning phase ensures that when they start they already have all the required materials in hand so there are no unexpected delays waiting for product! Moreso, the project leads are multi-skilled ensuring that one specialist is not waiting for another before the work can continue! Absolutely THE best reno experience we have ever been through, high quality work worth every penny!

Company Background

About Kitchens & Bathrooms First

Kitchens & Bathrooms First says it has served Ottawa homeowners since 2002 as a family-owned and operated company. It works from 850 Industrial Avenue, Unit 5, a commercial unit where a kitchen and bath showroom lets customers handle samples before they choose. The showroom is open Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

The company sells itself as one-stop shopping. Its website describes designer consultants, purchasing specialists with access to current fixtures, project managers who track the remodel, and skilled craftsmen who install it. The aim is simple communication between everyone working on the house, so a homeowner is not coordinating tile, plumbing and cabinets alone. The site also shows a products and brands page and a BBB accreditation badge, and it names showroom and installation staff by first name in client testimonials. One client praises Tracy's help choosing tile and fixtures, and another says the installers, Joe and Pat, were accommodating, polite, neat and punctual.

The scope is kitchens and bathrooms only. You will not find basements or additions here. The site does not state a warranty length, a licence number or insurance details, so those need to be requested in writing. It lists a founder, co-founder, architect and interior designer on its team page, though the page also carries placeholder text, so confirm who will actually run your project.

Google shows 4.7 from 84 reviews, read October 30, 2026. That is the lowest rating in this ranking, though 84 reviews is a healthy sample, and the photos show a bright open kitchen with a long island, updated bathrooms and the showroom floor with vanities and a freestanding tub.

Kitchens & Bathrooms First suits homeowners who want to see and touch finishes in a showroom and want one team to handle design through installation. It suits less well anyone planning structural work. Before you book, ask for a written itemized quote, the warranty terms, WSIB and insurance certificates, and who applies for any City of Ottawa permit.
