I met with Paul For a preliminary quote. He was professional and personable, and came up with great ideas! Although I was not able to go through with my project at this time, he was kind and understanding and I would recommend this company to anybody who wants high-quality work done with professional and personable people!

We had an outstanding experience working with Ultimate Renovations over the past two years. From the initial meeting, to the design concept, to putting the project on hold for a year to save up for it and then starting the project this past Spring, each interaction was well organized and personable. We added a main floor office to our almost three year old newly built custom home and we couldn't be happier with the outcome. Ultimate's team worked with us in every way to make the process seamless and the least interruptions in our lives to get the job done. They had initially thought it would take 3-4 months to complete and they ended up finishing the whole project in just over 2 months. Their site manager was amazing for communicating every aspect of the project with us, and all of the trades people that were coming and going from the site were friendly and professional. We would not hesitate to work with them again on our next home project and have also suggested them to our friends and neighbours who are looking at doing home renovation projects as well. Thank you Ultimate Renovations for setting the bar so high in this industry, we look forward to working with you again!

We had our entire main floor into our upper hallway renovated by Ultimate, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. Everyone we worked with made the process seamless from the initial design stage through to the final completion. The team was professional, knowledgeable, and a pleasure to work with every step of the way.

We are absolutely thrilled with the outcome of the renovations and the quality of the workmanship. We would highly recommend Ultimate to anyone considering a home renovation project.

Ultimate Renovations modified my garage door four years ago, and their work was incredibly professional and flawless. If I could give them six stars, I absolutely would! The owners, Danny and Paul, are men of honesty and integrity—they are the only company I truly trust when it comes to home renovations.
Recently, I contacted them again to build a sunroom on my second-floor deck. They made a special trip to my house for the assessment, offered me even better advice, and honestly recommended another trustworthy company that is perfectly suited for this specific job. I am so grateful for their professionalism and selflessness. Highly recommended!

We hired Ultimate Renovations about 1.5 years ago for a major renovation of our home, both inside and out, including the addition of a beautiful outdoor living space. We have been extremely happy with the results. Their team was professional, organized, and attentive throughout the entire process. The quality of workmanship has stood the test of time, and we continue to enjoy the transformed spaces every day. We would highly recommend Ultimate Renovations to anyone looking for a reliable and experienced renovation company.

Company Background

About Ultimate Renovations

Ultimate Renovations has one of the longest histories on this list. Brothers Danny and Terry Ritchie founded it in Edmonton in 1979 as a window cladding and siding business. After a major Calgary hailstorm in 1991, insurers called, and the brothers opened a Calgary office. A showroom and office followed in the mid-1990s, and in 2007 the company doubled the building to add a cabinet manufacturing facility with a CNC machine. The second generation of the Ritchie family now helps run the business, and the website names Paul and Barb Ritchie as co-owners.

The company calls itself a design-build firm. In-house interior and architectural designers, cabinet makers, project managers and carpenters appear on its team page, which lists dozens of names. Services include complete home renovations, kitchens, bathrooms, basement development, home additions, exterior renovations, outdoor living spaces, home design and custom homes. Ultimate says it confirms costs before construction starts and offers temporary rental accommodation to clients whose homes are not livable during large projects.

The credentials it lists are BBB accreditation, RenoMark certification and membership in the Alberta Renovation Warranty Program. It reports 12 Renovator of the Year wins and more than 60 industry awards, which are the company's own figures. Its project pages name Calgary and area communities including Altadore, Elbow Valley, Springbank and Westgate.

Google shows 4.9 stars from 109 reviews, read October 30, 2026. The Calgary office is open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays, and the phone line is staffed seven days a week by the company's account.

This is a larger-project shop. The public site gives no price ranges, and the company also operates in Edmonton, so ask who will manage your Calgary job.

Ultimate suits owners planning a whole-floor renovation, a kitchen with custom cabinetry, a basement or an addition who want design, building and cabinetry from one firm. It suits less well anyone who needs a quick, small repair.

Before booking, ask for the written scope and price, the permit plan, proof of WCB and liability coverage, and the contractor's City of Calgary business licence, which the City's Licensed Trade Contractor tool can confirm.

  • What credentials does Ultimate Renovations list?

Its website lists BBB accreditation, RenoMark certification and membership in the Alberta Renovation Warranty Program, along with 12 Renovator of the Year wins. These are the company's statements, so confirm each with the issuing body, and check its City of Calgary business licence with the City's Licensed Trade Contractor tool.

  • Where is Ultimate Renovations located and when is it open?

The Calgary office and design centre is at 5056 11 Street SE, open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday to Friday. A showhome at 108 Douglas Woods Grove SE is by appointment, and a showcase sits in the Bow Valley Square +15. Call (403) 287-3122, which the company says is answered seven days a week.

  • Does Ultimate Renovations build its own cabinets?

Yes, by its own account. The company runs a cabinet manufacturing facility with a CNC machine at its Calgary building and employs cabinet designers, cabinet makers and a shop foreman. Ask for a cabinet sample and lead time before you sign a kitchen contract.

  • Is Ultimate Renovations licensed and insured?

We checked 0 of 4 credentials against the issuing authority. Verified items carry the date we checked; reported items are what the business told us and we could not independently confirm.

  • Does Ultimate Renovations offer emergency service?

Emergency availability is not listed for this company. If you need an urgent call-out, check the ranking for companies that do list it.

  • What warranty do they offer?

Member of the Alberta Renovation Warranty Program, as stated by the company. There are usually two warranties on a job: the manufacturer covers materials, the contractor covers workmanship. Get both in writing and check whether the workmanship coverage transfers if you sell.

  • How was this profile built?

Credentials come from issuing authorities, ratings from the company's Google Business Profile with the date we read them, and the editorial take from our own review of estimates, warranty documents and public feedback. Anything the business told us is labelled as reported.

  • Can a business pay to improve its profile?

A business can subscribe to manage its own listing details, and it can buy a labelled sponsored placement. Neither changes a ranking position or the editorial assessment on this page.
