10 Best Plumbers in Toronto, ON

Priority Plumbing & Drains leads this list of plumbers in Toronto. Positions follow the order these companies appear in Google Maps for this trade and city, read on September 27, 2026. Every profile records where its rating and contact details came from.

Our top 10 plumbing companies in Toronto

Plumbing is a compulsory trade in Ontario, and Toronto issues its own master plumber licences. The practical differentiators in this market are drain replacement in older housing, backwater valve work under the city subsidy, and who actually files the permit.

  1. Priority Plumbing & Drains

Toronto homeowners who want a licensed plumber backing installs with a lifetime warranty4.8(1910 Google reviews)1594 Dupont StBest for Toronto homeowners who want a licensed plumber backing installs with a lifetime warranty Rank01

    Why we picked them

A lifetime warranty on installations is a stronger guarantee than most Toronto plumbers publish, and it's backed here by 1,910 Google reviews, the largest sample on this list, plus a founder who has led the company since 2001. Reviewers repeatedly naming specific technicians across very different jobs is a good sign of consistency at scale.

    What we like

    • 4.8 rating from 1,910 Google reviews, read September 22, 2026, the largest review base in this Toronto ranking
    • Founded in 2001 by Austin Tsakopoulos, still leading the company as president
    • Ontario plumbing license P17794 and heating license 00749274
    • Lifetime warranty on all installations, plus a 100% satisfaction guarantee
    • Reviewers repeatedly name specific technicians across very different jobs

    Things to consider

    • Website lists a different phone number than its Google Business Profile; this listing uses the Google number
    • No explicit around-the-clock emergency claim beyond being open seven days a week
    • Financing options not detailed on the site reviewed

    Services

  2. Luxury Plumbing of Downtown Toronto

urgent leak and drain repairs plus bathroom and kitchen fixture work in downtown condos and homes5.0(93 Google reviews)230 Mavety St, Toronto, ON M6P 2M2, CanadaBest for urgent leak and drain repairs plus bathroom and kitchen fixture work in downtown condos and homes Rank02

    Why we picked them

The 5.0 from 93 reviews is a genuinely good record, and publishing a $150 show up fee puts more on the table than most Toronto plumbers manage before you've even called. The site is light on the technical detail, licence numbers, warranty terms, overnight rates, and the two different phone numbers need sorting out. Fine for a leak or a fixture job, worth a longer conversation for anything permitted.

    What we like

    • 5.0 rating from 93 reviews on its Google Business Profile, read September 27, 2026
    • Published $150 show up fee for both residential and commercial bookings
    • Hours listed as open 24 hours, seven days a week
    • Covers both repair work and full fixture or system installations
    • Reviews it publishes emphasise tidy job sites and pricing explained up front

    Things to consider

    • The Google listing and the company website show two different phone numbers
    • No licence, insurance or WSIB details published, so ask for them directly
    • The site does not describe repipes, sewer laterals or permitted work
    • Registered on Mavety Street in the Junction rather than in the core itself

  3. Top 24/7 Plumbing Toronto

quick-turnaround plumbing fixes in East York and central Toronto5.0(108 Google reviews)45 Overlea Blvd Fl 1, Toronto, ONBest for quick-turnaround plumbing fixes in East York and central Toronto Rank03

    Why we picked them

A perfect rating and reviews that consistently describe fast, clean work are a reasonable basis for a shortlist, though the sample is modest next to some other names on this list. The missing license number is worth a direct question before booking anything beyond a routine repair.

    What we like

    • 5.0 rating from 108 Google reviews, read September 18, 2026
    • 24/7 availability with emergency response
    • Free estimate offered to new customers
    • East York base reaches central Toronto neighbourhoods quickly
    • Real contact email on its own domain

    Things to consider

    • No license number, insurance detail or founding year is published
    • Review sample is smaller than several other listings
    • Social media links are stated but specific URLs are not confirmed

  4. DrainFast Plumbing of Toronto

same-day drain cleaning and sewer backup calls in older Toronto homes4.9(110 Google reviews)223 Oakwood Ave, York, ON M6E 2V3, CanadaBest for same-day drain cleaning and sewer backup calls in older Toronto homes Rank04

    Why we picked them

A drain-led plumber with a genuinely good review score and hours long enough to catch most working schedules, which is the combination most people actually need when a basement drain starts backing up. The service area is broad and the website copy is a little generic about which city it calls home, so confirm coverage and pricing structure on the call. For main drain and sewer backup work in older Toronto housing, it deserves a place on the shortlist.

    What we like

    • 4.9 from 110 reviews on its Google Business Profile, read September 27, 2026
    • Published hours of 6am to 11pm every day, including weekends
    • Clear specialism in drain cleaning, clogged drains and sewer backups
    • Covers Toronto plus Mississauga, Vaughan, Etobicoke, North York, Richmond Hill, Pickering, Burlington and Oshawa
    • Online booking form as well as a direct phone line
    • Takes both residential and commercial work

    Things to consider

    • Website copy names Scarborough in places while the listing gives a York address, so confirm your area is covered
    • No pricing, call-out fee or after-hours rate is published
    • Nothing on the site describes excavation, trenchless lining or backwater valve installation
    • Minimal social presence beyond a single YouTube video, so little public portfolio to review

  5. Superior Plumbing & Heating of Toronto

same-day plumbing and heating emergencies in Toronto homes, day or night5.0(72 Google reviews)120 Eglinton Ave E #500, Toronto, ON M4P 1E2, CanadaBest for same-day plumbing and heating emergencies in Toronto homes, day or night Rank05

    Why we picked them

A perfect 5.0 across 72 Google reviews is a good sign, though the sample is smaller than the several hundred the company references on its own site, so treat the two figures separately. The genuine draw is breadth plus overnight availability: drains, sewers, furnaces and air conditioning from one dispatch board matters in a city where a January burst pipe and a dead furnace can arrive the same night. Get the flat-rate quote and the after-hours premium confirmed verbally before anyone is dispatched.

    What we like

    • 5.0 rating from 72 Google reviews as read on 4 September 2026
    • Published hours of 24 hours a day, every day of the week
    • Plumbing, drains, sewer lines and HVAC handled by one company
    • Trenchless sewer and drain options that avoid excavating gardens and driveways
    • Flat-rate pricing model advertised rather than open-ended hourly billing

    Things to consider

    • 72 reviews is a modest sample for a company claiming multiple branches and a large crew
    • Warranty is advertised at up to 90 days, so confirm the exact term for your job
    • Better suited to repairs and replacements than to staged renovation projects
    • Any after-hours or holiday premium should be confirmed on the phone before dispatch

  6. CDP Plumbing of Toronto

same-day plumbing repairs across west and central Toronto5.0(242 Google reviews)1344 Davenport Rd, Toronto, ONBest for same-day plumbing repairs across west and central Toronto Rank06

    Why we picked them

A review naming a job that a previous contractor could not fix is a specific, checkable kind of praise, and the consistent mentions of cleanliness and no mess left behind suggest real attention to the details homeowners actually notice. The missing licence number is the one gap worth closing with a direct question.

    What we like

    • 5.0 rating from 242 Google reviews, read September 18, 2026
    • Reviews consistently describe clean, thorough work with no mess left behind
    • One review credits the company with fixing a job a previous contractor could not
    • 24/7 emergency service with usual same-day availability
    • Real contact email on its own domain

  7. John The Plumber

same-day drain cleaning and water heater work in downtown Toronto homes4.8(340 Google reviews)285 Augusta Ave, Toronto, ON M5T 2M1, CanadaBest for same-day drain cleaning and water heater work in downtown Toronto homes Rank07

    Why we picked them

The combination of a 4.8 rating across 340 Google reviews and 7 AM to 11 PM hours every day is a genuinely useful pairing, and the service list is broad enough to cover both a blocked kitchen sink and a failed sewer lateral. We would treat the licensed, insured and two year warranty claims as the company's own until you see the paperwork, and we would nail down the fee structure before the van arrives. A sensible first call for downtown homeowners who need someone this week.

    What we like

    • 4.8 rating from 340 reviews on its Google Business Profile, read September 27, 2026
    • Published hours of 7 AM to 11 PM, seven days a week
    • Broad residential range, from clogged sinks to full sewer line replacement
    • Water heater work covering gas, electric and tankless units
    • Trading since 2006 according to its own website, with online booking available

    Things to consider

    • Licensed, insured and two year warranty are claims from its own site, so ask to see documentation
    • Presents as a residential company, so commercial and multi-unit work may be better placed elsewhere
    • Same-day, seven-day availability generally carries a price premium over booking ahead with an independent
    • The website lists a different phone number than the Google profile, so confirm which reaches the downtown team

  8. Strong Plumbing Inc

underground water pipe replacement and licensed plumbing work downtown5.0(183 Google reviews)18 King St E, Toronto, ONBest for underground water pipe replacement and licensed plumbing work downtown Rank08

    Why we picked them

A review describing a genuine three-quote comparison, with a named technician winning on both price and manner, is about as concrete a recommendation as this kind of listing gets. Multiple published licence numbers and a stated 25-year pipe warranty give a homeowner real detail to verify before committing to a significant job.

    What we like

    • 5.0 rating from 183 Google reviews, read September 18, 2026
    • Over 34 years of stated experience
    • Multiple published licence numbers, including Master Plumbing Licence P#22280
    • 25-year full warranty on pipes replaced
    • A reviewer chose the company over two competing quotes on price and service

    Things to consider

    • Free estimates are limited to service calls booked 9am to 4pm on weekdays
    • Company domain email ownership was not independently confirmed
    • Founding year is not explicitly stated, only years of experience

  9. Dayton Plumbing Services Ltd

basement flooding prevention and sewer drain work in older Toronto homes4.7(158 Google reviews)1 Glen Rd, Toronto, ON M4X 1M4, CanadaBest for basement flooding prevention and sewer drain work in older Toronto homes Rank09

    Why we picked them

A drainage-led plumbing company with a strong review record and a genuinely useful spread of services, from backwater valves to roof drains, which is the kind of range that matters in older Toronto neighbourhoods. The 4.7 from 158 reviews on Google is solid, though the visible reviews skew toward smaller jobs, so do your own asking if you are facing a sewer replacement. Confirm after-hours rates and permit responsibility up front and this is a sensible shortlist entry.

    What we like

    • 4.7 from 158 reviews on its Google Business Profile, read September 27, 2026
    • Drainage specialisms including backwater valves and roof drains, not just fixture work
    • Hours published as 24 hours, seven days, with emergency response offered
    • Handles both residential and ongoing commercial maintenance
    • Central Toronto base with a service map reaching across the GTA

    Things to consider

    • After-hours and emergency call-out pricing is not published, so confirm rates when booking
    • Visible reviews describe smaller jobs, with less detail on large sewer or stack replacements
    • The listed service area stretches from Whitby to Oakville, which may affect scheduling for non-urgent visits

    Services

  10. Toronto Plumber Done 24/7

after-hours plumbing emergencies in Toronto's older central neighbourhoods5.0(25 Google reviews)Bathurst St, Toronto, ON M5R 3H1, CanadaBest for after-hours plumbing emergencies in Toronto's older central neighbourhoods Rank10

    Why we picked them

A tidy, emergency-led plumbing outfit with a broad service list and a clean review record, though 25 reviews is a small base to judge from. The Bathurst Street location is genuinely useful for the older housing between downtown and midtown, where drains and supply lines cause most of the trouble. Worth a call for after-hours work, with the usual caution about confirming the licence and the night rate before anyone is dispatched.

    What we like

    • Published hours show 24 hours a day, seven days a week
    • 5.0 Google rating from 25 reviews, read September 4, 2026
    • Broad service list spanning repairs, installs, drains and sewers
    • Central Bathurst Street base covering Toronto and the GTA
    • Advertises upfront quoting before work begins

    Things to consider

    • 25 reviews is a small sample compared with larger Toronto operators
    • Experience and satisfaction figures are the company's own claims, not verified
    • No published pricing, so confirm after-hours rates and call-out fees when booking
    • Crew size is not listed, worth asking about for multi-day renovation work

    Services

How we chose the best plumbing companies in Toronto

Read our full ranking methodology →

This list was assembled from Google Maps results for the trade and city, then each company was written up from its own public profile. Positions follow Google's order and are not an editorial judgement until an editor reviews them. Two companies previously on this list were removed: Drain Specialists, after its Google listing, phone number and address were traced to Sioux City, Iowa, not Toronto; and DrainEx Plumbing of Toronto, on September 21, 2026, after its site turned out to be a generic lead-generation template with no physical address or named staff, and a public review flagged an apparent in-person review-solicitation approach unrelated to any actual job. A fresh Google Maps search on September 22, 2026 added a tenth company, Priority Plumbing & Drains, a licensed, family-founded plumber with the largest review base of any listing here.

How to choose a plumber in Toronto

  • Verify insurance and credentials

Ask for a current certificate of insurance and confirm registration or licensing with the authority that issues it, not with the company.

  • Ask for a written estimate

Scope, materials, removal, disposal and who pulls the permit should all be named on the page rather than agreed on the doorstep.

  • Compare multiple quotes

Two or three bids on the same scope. A number far below the others usually means something has been left out of it.

  • Understand the warranty

Separate the manufacturer's warranty on materials from the company's own warranty on the work, and get both in writing.

  • Ask who performs the work

Find out whether the crew are employees or subcontractors, and who supervises them on the day.

  • Check recent local projects

Ask for addresses or photographs of comparable jobs finished nearby in the last year or two.

  • Avoid high-pressure sales

A discount that expires today, or a knock on the door after a storm, is a reason to slow down rather than sign.

  • Get everything in writing

Change orders, timeline and payment schedule included, before the first payment changes hands.

Questions to ask before hiring

  • Are you insured, and can you send the certificate?
  • How long have you worked in this area?
  • Will you provide a written estimate with materials listed?
  • What warranty do you offer on the work itself?
  • Do you use subcontractors for this job?
  • Who handles permits and inspection?
  • What would you recommend here, and why?
  • How are unexpected costs handled once work starts?
  • What is the estimated timeline from start to finish?
  • Can you provide recent local references?

Red flags

  • No verifiable local business address or registration
  • Pressure to sign on the first visit
  • A demand for full payment up front
  • An offer to cover or waive your insurance deductible
  • Refusal to put warranty terms in writing
  • A quote that will not itemize scope

Plumbing companies in Toronto FAQs

  • Does Toronto help pay for basement flooding protection?

The city runs a subsidy programme covering part of the cost of backwater valves, sump pumps and severance of foundation drains, up to a set maximum per property. Applications go through the city, and several companies on this list will prepare the paperwork with you.

  • What should I ask a Toronto plumber before booking?

Ask for their Ontario plumbing license number and confirm it directly, ask whether the quote is flat-rate or hourly, and ask about any after-hours or emergency premium before a technician is dispatched.

  • What does emergency plumbing typically cost in Toronto?

Pricing varies by job and by whether a company charges a flat rate or an hourly rate plus an after-hours premium, so confirm the call-out fee and any overnight or weekend surcharge before a technician is dispatched.
