Company Background

About Alberta Hardwood Flooring

Alberta Hardwood Flooring is a family-owned flooring retailer that says it was established in 1985, with showrooms in Edmonton at 9303 51 Avenue NW and in Calgary. On its website the company reports a BBB A+ accreditation since 1995 and membership in the National Wood Flooring Association. It carries engineered and solid hardwood, luxury vinyl, laminate, carpet, tile and cork, plus an exclusive Ethos Collection of in-house carpet and luxury vinyl sold only through the company, and offers delivery and professional installation in Edmonton, Calgary and surrounding communities.

Reviewers highlight the showroom and the install. Fraser said the large sample floors gave a better idea of the real product, the estimate was clear and detailed, and installation was smoother and faster than expected. Don renovated his main floor with Canadian-made engineered hardwood, credited Tanya for the sale and said Vlad did a very professional install. A condo owner wrote that Joshua helped find vinyl plank that met the building's sound requirements. Joanna called the installers friendly, clean and fast and said the stairs look fantastic, and Toddcheryl praised the Bliss Lotus Ethos vinyl as easy to work with.

The 4.5 rating from 113 Google reviews is the lowest among the ten companies here, though still above the threshold used for this list. The website does not publish warranty terms or staff profiles. Hours are weekdays 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. The company holds 4.5 from 113 Google reviews, read November 1, 2026.

Before booking, ask for a written quote that lists product, underlay, removal, stairs and transitions, ask for the installation warranty in writing, and ask whether the crew is on staff. It suits buyers who want to see large samples and consider the Ethos lines. It suits buyers wanting a specialist installer only less well.

Alberta has no provincial licence for flooring installers, so ask for proof instead: a City of Edmonton business licence, liability insurance and a WCB clearance letter. The company lists a BBB A+ rating since 1995 and NWFA membership, which are trade and consumer credentials, not government licences.

  • How long has Alberta Hardwood Flooring been in business?

The company says it was founded in 1985. It holds a 4.5 rating from 113 Google reviews, read on November 1, 2026.

  • How do I contact Alberta Hardwood Flooring?

Email info@albertahardwood.com or use the contact details on its website. Send room sizes and the wood type, and ask for a written, itemised quote.

  • Is Alberta Hardwood Flooring licensed and insured?

We checked 0 of 2 credentials against the issuing authority. Verified items carry the date we checked; reported items are what the business told us and we could not independently confirm.

  • What areas does Alberta Hardwood Flooring serve?

Edmonton. Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. Confirm your address before scheduling, particularly at the edge of a service area.

  • Does Alberta Hardwood Flooring offer emergency service?

Emergency availability is not listed for this company. If you need an urgent call-out, check the ranking for companies that do list it.

  • What warranty do they offer?

Warranty terms are not on file. Ask for them in writing before work starts.

  • How was this profile built?

Credentials come from issuing authorities, ratings from the company's Google Business Profile with the date we read them, and the editorial take from our own review of estimates, warranty documents and public feedback. Anything the business told us is labelled as reported.

  • Can a business pay to improve its profile?

A business can subscribe to manage its own listing details, and it can buy a labelled sponsored placement. Neither changes a ranking position or the editorial assessment on this page.
