I can’t say enough great things about Building Dreams Contracting (BDC). From start to finish, they were absolutely fantastic to work with.

They completed the build of The James for us, and the entire experience was incredibly positive. They were efficient, organized and unbelievably clean throughout the whole project. They worked closely with us, our drawings and our designer, and were always flexible and solution-focused when changes or unexpected issues came up.

What impressed me most was how often they went above and beyond. When things went wrong — as they inevitably do during a large renovation — they stepped in, helped find solutions and made sure the project kept moving forward.

They met our deadline, worked with us on the budget and genuinely cared about the finished product. The communication, workmanship and overall professionalism of the entire team were exceptional.

After going through a major restaurant renovation with BDC, I wouldn’t hesitate to use them again. They will be my first choice for any future restaurant renovations and for renovations in my own home.

An amazing team and an absolutely fantastic experience from beginning to end. I have worked with Building Dreams Contracting and their team for more than eight years across dozens of projects in Hamilton, Burlington, and the surrounding area.

Over that time, we have collaborated on everything from direct homeowner projects to larger tendered CCDC contracts. Building Dreams has consistently proven to be a contractor that our office can rely on to understand the drawings, communicate effectively, and find practical solutions when challenges come up during construction.

One of the things I value most is their ability to work through the realities of construction without losing sight of the design intent. They are proactive when questions arise, they work well with consultants, and they take pride in getting the details right.

We have trusted Building Dreams Contracting with many of our clients over the years because we know they will represent the project professionally and build according to the plans. Their projects consistently progress, and when unforeseen conditions arise, their team works collaboratively to find a suitable solution.

After many years of working together, Building Dreams remains a contractor I am comfortable recommending to homeowners, designers, consultants, and other industry professionals.

I'm writing on behalf of my dealings with a Micheal for Building Dreams Contracting. Micheal spear headed the installation of a barrel sauna in the backyard that required leveling to have a pad in place, the sauna build and an 18-in trench to be dug across the yard to the house for the electrical to be ran underground. Micheal was professional, and efficient making this sauna idea come to life. I couldn't be happier with how this install went, and turned out. I highly recommend Building Dreams Contracting Inc.

Company Background

About Building Dreams Contracting Inc.

Building Dreams Contracting Inc. runs a Hamilton studio at 85 Lancing Drive, Unit K, on the Mountain, and describes itself as an integrated design-build company that grew out of a hands-on renovation team. Its site says the same group plans, prices and builds the job, so homeowners deal with one accountable team from the first sketch to the final walkthrough.

The services list covers whole-home renovations, kitchens and interiors, bathroom renovations, custom cabinetry and custom homes. The service area named on the site is Hamilton, Burlington, Oakville, Ancaster, Niagara and the wider Greater Hamilton Area. The process page describes five phases, with scope, permits, procurement, schedule and budget agreed before construction starts.

Two practices stand out. First, the company posts a written two-year materials and labour warranty. Second, it says clients get daily BuilderTrend updates during construction, which gives homeowners a running record of progress. A testimonial on the site credits Mike and Grant for a smooth kitchen renovation that stayed clean and kept neighbours happy.

Building Dreams holds 5.0 stars from 53 Google reviews, read October 30, 2026, which is the smallest review base among the contractors on this list, though every rating is perfect. Photos show bright open-plan kitchens with quartz counters and shaker cabinets.

Points to weigh: the studio is a commercial unit rather than a retail storefront, so book a visit ahead of time. The site does not state a founding year, a licence number or WSIB and insurance figures, and its emphasis on custom homes and larger renovations suggests small repair jobs may not be a fit.

Building Dreams suits homeowners planning a kitchen, bathroom or whole-home renovation who want design and construction under one roof and value a written warranty. It suits less well anyone looking for a handyman or a single-trade quote.

Before booking, ask for the warranty in writing, a copy of the liability insurance certificate and WSIB clearance certificate, a fixed scope and price, and who applies for the City of Hamilton building permit. Ontario has no general provincial licence for renovation contractors, so paperwork is your check.
