Editorial Review

Our Take on Waffles Construction General Contractors Inc.

Waffles keeps things simple with one project manager per job and a long list of named local projects. Treat the suite address as an appointment-only office and ask for insurance and WSIB paperwork up front.

We worked with Dan & Savvas for a fairly large renovation project which included completing our basement as well as additional electrical work for exterior pot lights. From the initial consultation to the ongoing progress updates and finished results, we couldn't be happier.

Both Savvas and Dan were very attentive to our needs and concerns throughout the renovation project. Everything turned out great and it was also reassuring that they went above and beyond just the simple building codes to ensure the job was done right.

Fabulous bathroom renovation completed by Waffles Construction! Dan set the tone from our initial contact with a quick response and friendly, easy communication. Our 1961 bathroom was demolished down to the studs and completed with a beautiful curbless shower and heated flooring. Savvas was our wonderful project manager that kept the project running smooth, advising which trades would be in and work completed each day, handling any concerns we had, and being onsite to oversee the work. Savvas was always quick to respond to any texts or calls, a delight to work with. Budget was set and followed, changes/options discussed, no surprises.

Waffles builds a team with great tradespeople who take pride in their work. Shoutout to Schubert Electric for suggesting Waffles for this project. We are very happy with our bathroom and would recommend Waffles to others looking to complete a renovation.

Had a wonderful experience working with Dan and Savvas. We got our basement finished, adding a bedroom, bathroom, and living room. Savvas was always available and did a wonderful job communicating project progress, deadlines, delays, and updates. The contractors as well were punctual, friendly, and highly experienced.

We will definitely use Waffles Construction again for any future renovations!

Whenever you decide to renovate its a big decision. For our bathroom renovation it was the first time we were doing a large project inside our home. It was important to us to find a company that we could trust with our home. We definitely made the right decision with Dan, Savvas and the rest of the Waffles Construction team.

From the first meeting through the end of the project we felt like our questions, concerns and feedback were all addressed promptly. We felt supported, listened to and ultimately in control of the project.

This was important because things can and do happen during larger projects. We ran several weeks over deadline as small set backs mounted but Savvas and his calm demeanor assured us it would come together and he was right.

We are very pleased with our finished bathroom and would not hesitate to recommend Waffles to our family and friends.

We needed an exterior laundry room door replaced asap due to rain leaking in. An associate recommended Dan at Waffles Construction. Dan returned our call immediately, provided a quote and promised the work completed within a few days. When there was a minor issue it was resolved the next day
Installers were professional and kept us advised on any concerns
We will definitely contact Dan on our next project

We hired Waffles for the complete renovation of our main floor which included a new floorplan layout moving the kitchen to the back of the house. Dan and all the crews worked together and it was their skill and creativity that allowed us to achieve the open floor plan and design we wanted. Beautiful, high quality and so easy to work with. Highly recommend Waffles for any of your home projects large or small.

Company Background

About Waffles Construction General Contractors Inc.

Waffles Construction General Contractors Inc. works from Suite 202 at 180 James Street South, a short walk from Hamilton's core, and says it has built residential and commercial projects for more than a decade. The company's pitch is simple: clear pricing before work starts, a single project manager who knows your job, and certified trades behind that person.

Services on the site include kitchens, bathrooms, basements, exterior renovations and home additions, along with custom homes and commercial renovations. The portfolio page lists named projects, among them Price Court, Chatham, Robinhood, Highway 8, Rexford, Cumberland and McMaster, which helps homeowners see the neighbourhoods where the company works. The stated service area is Hamilton, Stoney Creek, Burlington, Ancaster and Dundas.

Waffles holds 4.9 stars from 117 Google reviews, read October 30, 2026, the second-largest review base on this list. Photos show a vaulted living room addition with a gas fireplace, a navy and white kitchen with a farmhouse sink, and several backyard deck projects. The site also publishes blog guides on custom home builds and additions that explain permits, conservation authority rules near the escarpment and typical sequencing.

Points to weigh: the address is an office suite, not a shop, so book an appointment rather than dropping in. The site does not give a licence number, WSIB or insurance figures, or the founder's name in the pages we read, so request those directly. Hours on Google run 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. seven days a week.

Waffles suits homeowners in the lower city, the Mountain and Dundas who want a kitchen, basement or addition handled by a project manager they can reach. It suits less well anyone who wants to browse a showroom.

Before booking, ask for an itemized written quote, the liability insurance certificate and WSIB clearance certificate, who applies for the City of Hamilton building permit, and the warranty on labour. Ontario has no general provincial licence for renovation contractors, so those documents are your check.
