Editorial Review
Our Take on City Roofing & Exteriors
City Roofing & Exteriors earns its place on hail-damage work, where the paperwork and Class 4 shingle options matter as much as the install. The reviews are strong and the warranty tiers are spelled out, though the site's numbers and hours do not fully match Google's and no owner is named. Ask for the Calgary business licence and WCB letter, then book.

Company Background
About City Roofing & Exteriors
City Roofing & Exteriors has been answering Calgary roofing calls since 2009, when its first jobs came by referral from neighbours in the northeast. The company now works in every quadrant, and the testimonials on its site come from homes in Signal Hill, Kincora, Evanston, McKenzie Towne, Tuscany and Riverbend. Replacement is the core service. The crew strips the roof, inspects the deck, lays ice and water shield at eaves and valleys, and fastens shingles in a pattern meant to hold against chinook gusts. The site lists Class 4 impact-resistant shingles from GAF, Owens Corning, CertainTeed, IKO and Malarkey, and one testimonial mentions IKO by name. Repair work covers leaks, hail and wind damage and emergency tarping, and the company says it can usually assess and tarp within 24 hours of a call. Siding, soffit, fascia and eavestroughs go to the same crew, as do torch-on, TPO and EPDM flat roofs on commercial buildings.
The hail work is what sets it apart. Testimonials describe an estimator photographing each slope and writing up the scope for the insurer, and another homeowner said the company patched a leak instead of selling a full replacement. The company states that its crew is SECOR certified, registered with WCB Alberta and BBB accredited, and it offers a limited lifetime workmanship warranty on full shingle replacements, with five years on siding and soft metal and ten on flat roofs. Google shows 4.8 stars from 186 reviews, read October 5, 2026. Praise centres on tidy cleanup and one-day replacements. The fair criticism is price, since one homeowner noted it was not the cheapest of three quotes. The website quotes 158 reviews and weekday hours of 8 to 5, while Google shows 186 reviews and Monday to Saturday hours of 8 to 7, so confirm Saturday availability by phone.
It suits owners of hail-damaged or aging asphalt roofs who want insurer-ready documentation and a crew that is on the payroll. It suits less well anyone who wants to deal with a named project manager, because the site names no owner or staff. Alberta does not license roofers provincially, so before booking ask for the City of Calgary business licence number, a WCB clearance letter and proof of liability insurance, plus a written scope that names the shingle line and the warranty terms.

Is City Roofing & Exteriors licensed and insured?
We checked 0 of 3 credentials against the issuing authority. Verified items carry the date we checked; reported items are what the business told us and we could not independently confirm.
What areas does City Roofing & Exteriors serve?
Calgary. Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. Confirm your address before scheduling, particularly at the edge of a service area.
Does City Roofing & Exteriors offer emergency service?
Yes, the company lists emergency availability. Response time depends on demand, and after a storm every company in the market is stretched.
What warranty do they offer?
Limited lifetime workmanship warranty on full shingle replacements, on top of the shingle manufacturer warranty (25 years to lifetime depending on product). Siding and soft metal work carry a 5 year workmanship warranty; flat roof and commercial work carries 10 years.. There are usually two warranties on a job: the manufacturer covers materials, the contractor covers workmanship. Get both in writing and check whether the workmanship coverage transfers if you sell.
