Editorial Review
Our Take on National Star Roofing Inc
The strongest pitch here is accountability: an in-house crew, a published 20 year labour warranty and 4.9 stars across 218 Google reviews. The gaps are paperwork you must request yourself, namely a licence number and WCB clearance, and a warranty that excludes hail and wind damage.

Company Background
About National Star Roofing Inc
National Star Roofing Inc has operated from the corner of 21 Avenue SW and 35 Street SW since the company started in 2003, and it is firm about one point: the people on your roof are its own crew, not subcontractors. Alex Vukaj is named as the founder, and the website describes the team as family members and trained staff.
Most of the work is residential reroofing and repair on asphalt shingles. The site lists Owens Corning Duration, Duration STORM with Class 4 impact resistance, Malarkey Legacy and IKO Cambridge, and says the company is an Owens Corning Preferred Contractor. It also installs EPDM, SBS modified bitumen, TPO, PVC, metal and built-up roofing, takes on commercial flat roofs, and handles soffit, fascia and siding. Emergency repair is advertised as available around the clock, financing is offered, and estimates are free through an online booking page, with a stated turnaround as quick as three hours.
Credentials are specific. The company says it carries $5 million in general liability insurance, is registered with WCB, holds BBB accreditation and won HomeStars Best of awards from 2018 to 2021. No licence number appears on the site. Alberta does not license roofers provincially, so ask for the City of Calgary business licence number, a current WCB clearance letter and a certificate of liability insurance, and keep copies.
National Star Roofing Inc publishes its warranty in detail: 20 years of labour on full replacements, transferable to a new owner without notice, plus leak repair at its own expense for workmanship defects. Read the exclusions before signing. Wind, hail, attic rain, condensation and work by other contractors are not covered, and leak claims must be made within 48 hours of discovery. The site also says payment is not requested until you are satisfied, with warranty paperwork delivered first.
The listing shows 4.9 from 218 Google reviews, read October 5, 2026. The company's own pages quote older, lower Google totals, so trust the live listing.
This suits homeowners who want a long-established, owner-led crew for shingle or flat roof work. It suits less well anyone who wants neighbourhood-by-neighbourhood project galleries or published prices. Before booking, ask who will be on your roof, which shingle line is in the quote, and for the licence, WCB and insurance documents in writing.

Is National Star Roofing licensed and insured in Calgary?
National Star Roofing says it carries $5 million in general liability insurance and is registered with WCB, but its website does not publish a licence number. Alberta does not license roofers provincially, so ask for the City of Calgary business licence number, a current WCB clearance letter and a certificate of insurance before work starts. The company also reports Owens Corning Preferred Contractor status and BBB accreditation.
Does National Star Roofing offer emergency roof repair in Calgary?
Yes, the company advertises emergency roof repair as available 24/7, and its Google listing shows Open 24 hours every day. Call (403) 477-7712. Free estimates are booked through an online scheduler, and the site says an estimate can be arranged in as little as three hours.
What warranty does National Star Roofing give on a new roof?
A 20 year labour warranty applies to full roof replacements and can transfer to a new owner without notice. Leaks caused by workmanship defects are repaired at the company's expense, and the manufacturer's material warranty is provided as well. Wind, hail, attic rain, condensation and other contractors' work are excluded, and leak claims must be made within 48 hours of discovery. Financing is offered, and the work covers homes across Calgary.

We checked 0 of 5 credentials against the issuing authority. Verified items carry the date we checked; reported items are what the business told us and we could not independently confirm.
What areas does National Star Roofing Inc serve?
Calgary. Coverage is as the business describes it, cross-checked against where its recent documented work is. Confirm your address before scheduling, particularly at the edge of a service area.
Does National Star Roofing Inc offer emergency service?
Yes, the company lists emergency availability. Response time depends on demand, and after a storm every company in the market is stretched.
What warranty do they offer?
20 year labour warranty on full replacements, transferable to new owners; leak repair at company expense for workmanship defects; manufacturer material warranty provided; excludes wind, hail, attic rain, condensation and other contractors; claims within 48 hours of discovery..
