About Harlen Johnson HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical
Harlen Johnson HVAC, Plumbing & Electrical has been serving Dallas since 1957, which puts it close to 70 years in the same market, a run that very few HVAC companies in this ranking can match. It works out of 2643 Royal Lane in northwest Dallas and carries a 4.8 rating from 1,208 Google reviews, read September 22, 2026.
The company publishes two license numbers on its site, TECL 588921 and plumbing license RMP38583, and its Google profile and recent reviews show it absorbing other local brands, with one reviewer noting they called under the Classic ABC name and got a Harlen Johnson technician. That consolidation is worth knowing about, since it means the company is larger than the single Royal Lane address suggests.
What sets Harlen Johnson apart is scope. Beyond AC and heating repair, replacement and maintenance, it handles plumbing, water heaters, gas lines, sewer and drain cleaning with hydro jetting, and a full electrical menu that includes panel upgrades, rewiring, EV charger installation, generators and lighting. A homeowner dealing with an aging house can get all three trades from one licensed company rather than juggling three contractors.
Reviewers name their technicians often, and one name comes up more than any other. Emmanuel is credited by one customer with identifying and fixing an ongoing problem that no other company had been able to solve, after which the household put all three of its units on the annual service plan. Another reviewer, a former military AC tech, described Emmanuel's coil cleaning as honest work with before and after photos to prove it. David is named for a capacitor replacement and drain cleaning that was explained step by step.
Not every review is clean. One customer had a full system replacement stop running 30 minutes after the crew left, and while the company came back quickly and cleared the drain line, the reviewer noted they were left without paperwork on the new equipment. That is a reasonable thing to ask about before an install: what documentation and registration you will receive.
Emergency service runs 24/7, financing is available through Synchrony, and the company posts seasonal specials and rebate information. Its site does not publish owner names, founding story details, specific brands installed, maintenance plan pricing or warranty terms, so ask about those directly.
For a Dallas homeowner who wants a company with a track record going back to the 1950s and the ability to handle HVAC, plumbing and electrical in one relationship, Harlen Johnson is a well-established choice.
