About All Temp Heating and Air Conditioning
All Temp Heating and Air Conditioning has been keeping Chicago houses warm since 1938, and its website says the business is still family owned and now run by the fourth generation. Its main office is on West Montrose Avenue in the Mayfair and Albany Park area on the Northwest Side, and it serves the city along with suburbs such as Evanston, Skokie, Lincolnwood, Niles, Park Ridge, Northbrook and Bolingbrook.
Much of Chicago's housing is bungalows and two-flats built long before central air, and All Temp is well set up for that. Alongside furnace and air conditioning repair, service and installation, it installs SpacePak and Unico high-velocity systems, which use small flexible ducts that fit through closets and walls, as well as ductless air conditioners. The company says it is Bryant's highest-rated dealer in the country, and it runs a Comfort Club membership with twice-yearly maintenance and priority scheduling. Financing and a warranty package are also mentioned.
The reviews repeatedly highlight how the company treats people. One customer wrote about owner Ricky personally making sure an 85-year-old mother got help fast when her air conditioning failed in 90-degree heat. Another described a smooth process from quote to installation when replacing both an air conditioner and furnace, with a fair price and a clear warranty. Others praise technicians such as Nick, Edwin, Randy and Raul for quick scheduling and clear communication.
The Google profile lists All Temp as open 24 hours, and the website advertises 24/7 emergency repair. Free estimates are not highlighted, and license numbers are not listed on the pages we reviewed.
Who it suits: owners of older Chicago homes who want central air without major demolition, and anyone who values a long-running family company with a maintenance club. Who it suits less well: someone who needs a company that also handles plumbing or electrical work.
Before booking, ask what the Comfort Club includes, which warranty package comes with your system, and whether a high-velocity or ductless setup is the better fit for your floor plan.
