Two men crew, did an inspection first with camera and showed me the problem. Then cleaned out the obstruction away again showed me the cleaned pipes. Very clean work, left no dirt or anything behind. Not only they provided prompt service on a long weekend, on a Sunday, they charged very very reasonable and fair amount for the work they did. I couldn’t thank them enough. About AMACS Plumbing and Heating
AMACS Plumbing and Heating is the newest company in this ranking. Andrew MacFarlane launched it in January 2025 after years managing other plumbing and heating companies, and it has already built a perfect 5.0 on Google across 64 reviews, read September 24, 2026. The listed address is on Cassandra Drive in the Forest Hills area of Dartmouth.
The website says AMACS is BBB accredited and professionally certified. Its services cover plumbing repairs and installations, renovation plumbing, hydronic heating, boilers and radiant floor heat, water heaters, drain camera inspections, drain snaking, high-pressure sewer jetting and emergency drainage repairs, along with seasonal maintenance and tune-ups. The company advertises 24/7 emergency service across Halifax, Dartmouth and HRM, and Google lists it as open 24 hours. The website does not publish warranty terms, financing or certification numbers.
Reviews describe a responsive owner who shows up himself. Crystal called Andrew about outdoor taps, and he found her hot water tank so corroded that water was leaking through the side of the intake, so they replaced the tank first. Laurinda said the crew replaced her old tank quickly, left no mess and charged a good price. Sean had Andrew, Ethan and Payton come on short notice for a leaking toilet, and Conrad got a same-day visit from Kyle and Frank when he woke to water on his kitchen floor. One reviewer said she has used Andrew for more than two years, which likely reflects his work before AMACS launched.
AMACS suits a Dartmouth or Halifax homeowner who wants an owner-led team for water heaters, leaks or hydronic heating and likes a quick response. It suits less well someone who puts a long company history first. Ask for the plumber's Nova Scotia certificate of qualification, get warranty terms in writing, and confirm who pulls the HRM plumbing permit.
