- Jarlaxle5.0After calling a plumber that never returned my call and having a terrible experience with Mr. Rooter, I decided to give HomeRun Plumbing a call. I am very happy that I did! Right off the bat, I was greeted by Kelsi who provided great customer service over the phone! A breath of fresh air after my terrible Mr. Rooter customer service. She set me up with a time for Gilbert to come out and handle my bathroom sink issue. Gilbert arrived early after confirming with me that it was OK to do so. He proceeded to listen to my story of how the issue happened and suggested a fix. He then went to his van and did up a quote that was to my satisfaction immediately started the work. Took him about an hour to fix it and he did an excellent job. Gilbert even answered the questions I had about maintaining the drain and explained how he handles it at his house. Overall a very pleasant experience and I will not hesitate to contact HomeRun Plumbing for my future plumbing needs!September 2026Google
- travis fitzmorris5.0awesome service , got us out of a drainage issue , very professional and polite , explained the whole process, definitely reccomend.September 2026Google
- Mandi Peever5.0Steve was our saviour earlier this week at home run plumbing. Our water stopped working late Sunday evening and we woke up to the same situation on ( holiday)Monday morning. I gave Steve a call and he was at our house within a couple hours. After some tinkering around and resolving the issue (entirely new well pump, pressure tank and control box), he made it his priority to come back and ensure that we had water the same day. Extraordinarily good service and very knowledgeable. His admin Kelsi is also fantastic to deal with. Highly recommend this small business and would use them again without a doubt.September 2026Google

About Homerun Plumbing, Pumps & Renovations Inc.
Homerun Plumbing, Pumps & Renovations holds a perfect 5.0 on Google across 209 reviews, read September 24, 2026, the strongest combination of rating and volume in this ranking. Owner Steve MacDonald, a Nova Scotia native with more than a decade in plumbing, runs it as a locally owned, independent business from Beaver Bank Road in the northern part of HRM.
Wells are the specialty. A lot of homes in Beaver Bank and other rural parts of HRM draw from private wells, and Homerun installs and repairs jet and submersible well pumps and pressure tanks and sets up water treatment. It also handles general plumbing repair and installation, water heaters, sewer and septic pumps, drain line snaking, septic repairs, hydronic boilers and bathroom and kitchen renovations. The company promises upfront, transparent pricing with options, says it is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and Google lists office hours of 7:30am to 5pm every day. Service reaches HRM plus East and West Hants, Colchester and Lunenburg counties. Warranty terms and certification numbers are not published.
Reviewers mostly talk about Steve and his colleague Ryan. Dawn woke up with no water, called later that morning and had Ryan at the door an hour after that. The customer behind the Bowser account had a new well pump and pressure tank installed the same day they called, and said Kelsi in the office and Steve kept them informed throughout. Cheryl-Anne said Steve replaced her hot water tank in two hours with no pricing surprises, and Jodi had a new tank installed and a water pressure problem fixed on the same visit.
Homerun suits a homeowner on a well or septic system in the rural and suburban edges of HRM who wants a specialist and fast response. It suits less well someone on the Halifax peninsula who needs a large crew for a big renovation. Ask for the plumber's Nova Scotia certificate of qualification and get warranty terms in writing.
